I never ever understand it. You see people queueing to pay for parking in Dundrum SC etc fuddling with wads of cash, when a quick tap does.

    You naive here

Pity seagulls weren't used in rituals.

...a bit like the plagues of locusts...someone somewhere must have a taste for them and maybe a tasty sauce to go alongside.

Badly need to be mass culled, Doubalin town city centre is full of them, particularly de parks.

Walked past Stephens green a while ago. It was shocking how many there were.

I work in Dundrum and they circle over there constantly. I checked the map. Dundrum is 4 miles from the sea.

I had a fresh chicken fillet roll stolen from my bare hands by a seagull in Stephens Green, fecker took it away in one swoop.

De gulls do be gulls, not necessarily seagoing as it were. Largest I’ve d er seen are in Aberdeen, make ours look like budgies.

Would there not be a temptation in later life to trace the person down and torch their home to the ground or stab them to death?

I'd say he thought you were eating one of his mates.
The "chicken" in those is shocking.

The gulls/seagulls around here are like pterodactyls!

There certainly would, in some people, but the predators rely on their victims being so cowed or ashamed and wanting to forget or deny it ever happened.
I'd not be at all surprised that some mysterious murders of some 'pillars of the community' over the years were related to past misdeeds.
