We need to get a pay as you go SIM card and number for an elderly relative. What shops in the city would be open to pick one up. We have an old Nokia phone which the sun will need to fit. If its a Vodafone SIM card better again but others will do for now.

The old Nokia phone you referenced may still be locked/tied to one mobile network - sounds from your post that it may be Vodafone. Only way you will know is by inserting another mobile phone network SIM card(s) to see if they are recognised or blocked. In the event that it is locked to Vodafone and your relative wants to try another network such as TESCO mobile etc;, perhaps someone could go online to the Vodafone Ireland website: https://n.vodafone.ie/ and obtain an Unlocking code but this is likely to take a few weeks as 20 working days is mentioned on the Vodafone website before you may receive a response on such requests!

    Alternatively,
If the person in question wants a New or Replacement SIM Card the following steps should assist further:
Simply log on to My Vodafone online (address link as follows here)
    https://n.vodafone.ie/en.html#login
    Then Go to:
    Device & SIM and
    Select Order a New SIM.
Follow the steps on screen to order a new SIM free of charge.
    Best wishes with it all.

If you get really stuck you can buy cheap basic phone s in Tesco. I think they are about €25 and pretty sure that's with a sim too.
