I think Phil would have prevented his own munch if he was able, and for this reason, i don't believe you can use your block on us as a clearing mech. I agreed to disagree with Phil yesterday on it, but it looks like he was right, as per his death at munch, it looks like it can't be prevented.

That was the intention of lashing it on overnight alright. I think you're right that it's unwise to assume this.
