19-05-2020 3:05amHI,
I am looking to buy a new TV,the budget is 700-800 and i would like a 65".
I know thats not a huge budget but was hoping you could advise me.
The room is moderately lit , but the TV would be near a window.
Is Dimming a must have ?
I like the android system but would the Lg (web os) and the Samsung give me access to apps like Plex and Disney and apple plus ?
Also is there a tv the would stream football from a web page better that others as i have a football subscription but it is not app based.
Is the Philips Ambilight any good as a feature or does it get annoying after a while ?
Thanks1

There are no LG or Samsung televisions with Android operating systems unfortunately.
For android you ideally need to go into the higher ranges of Philips and Sony.
In regards to streaming football via a web page on a TV. I would need to look into this as I know a lot of TV's block watching videos on web pages as to stop the watching of movies on streaming sites.
With the Ambi light on the Philips and can be very immersive when watching movies and it can be turned off if you don't want to use it.
In my opinion the Philips smart side of things let it down unless you go into the OLED range.
The NEW range for both LG and Samsung are now on the market.
Have a check over the following and let me know what you think.
LG have the 65UM7050 coming in at 749 Euro

The Philips 65PUS6754 coming in at 679 Euro

If you wanted an Android Sony I have one of the 65XG8196 left in stock (It located within the Belfast store so delivery may take a few extra days). A little over budget at 849 Euro

I have used the new range of Samsung LCD and the auto dimming is ridiculously bad , when watching 4K content it darkens the screen to a place where you can see absolutely nothing. This is insane that Samsung do this and do not have an option to turn off the dimming .
Are you aware of this issue and can you recommend a brand that does not do this

I'm not 100% sure if the new range of Samsung TVs have the auto dimming function as I haven't played with the settings yet but this is a feature that can be turned off in all of the Samsung models through either the Eco Sensor or Ambient Light Detection settings!
Let me know what you think!
Kind regards
