I have seen the same attitude and outbursts creeping into out primary school but at least we can call the gardaí to remove parent, they have no one to call!

Absolute leeches, smartphones must be soul destroying for the Gardai. Let's the scum tell whatever story they want.
Should be banned from the station, and all Gardai should be fitted with them.

The standard of parenting these scumbags get is there to see in the video.

With all the resources being deployed at checkpoints lately, surely it would make more sense to have AGS tackling these issues.

I suppose its easier stop traffic and ask where your going and where your coming from than actually investigating and preventing crime.

    Absolute Cretins.

When you have that type of victim mentality it's no wonder this country is getting that bit more lawless every day.

The Garda should be able to get their phones and smash them to pieces.

In saying it's always interesting to see difference between Police in UK and Garda and the way they handle things. The Police seem have far better approach and can handle these situations much better for few reasons.

Still not defending for a second what they have put up with either

Excellent post that I think sums up part of why we have this current situation. I believe the current legal system doesn't want change for the better as it will stop the free legal aid gravy train.

I know of a guy I was in college with who became a barrister and was living in a big house in Blackrock by his early thirties. He'd laugh and say members of the travelling community were his lifeblood and they kept him I'm steady business. I know we're taking about a different client group here, but once I saw the co-dependency I realised the lawyers were a significant part of the obstacle to improved quality of life in crime-ridden parts of society.

I consider this a disgraceful set of affairs. Those who make money from the system live neatly isolated lives. Those who are victims of it have almost no chance to escape or enjoy meaningful protection from the law.

You are surprised that a Barrister lives in a big house . Ffs. It’s not like the council estate boys and girls are filling up King’s Inn in huge numbers, no matter how intelligent they are. Many of the barristers come from well off backgrounds . Qualify by mid to late 20s ,after two years devilling earning NOTHING ...And lord knows how many loans to pay off, in an extremely competitive occupation where many of the newly qualified barristers leave the profession within 5 years .......hmm

They’d also be doing a lot more Circuit and Central Criminal Court work ,as oppose to District (where most of these Skangers will be found) to get that big house . District court pay is peanuts for the amount of work to be carried out and endless adjournments (sometimes The adjournments are the fault of the Gardai !)

The lawyers don’t have any magic voodoo doll to coax their client to commit multiple crimes or do drugs, nor are they part of neighbourhoods that refuse to cooperate with the police under some laughable notion that they owe loyalty to the local drug scum ,as they don’t want to be considered a rat .

Gaming ? How ? Client turns up to court, lawyer seeks the evidence against the client for it’s the Gardai /DPP job to prove the case , the law allows for probation reports and this takes time. Merely throwing junkies into our jails doesn’t work. Would be great if it did but .....

You are also ignoring the fact that lawyers; solicitors n barristers represent the DPP as the cops are not equip to do it

Our prisons are already packed up and the governments have failed to build more (Remember McDowell n Thorton Hall? ) and the local communities don’t want prisons being built near them, hence a lot of suspended sentences etc

Bringing cameras in to police stations happens A LOT more in the UK and US (especially the latter).

It's a big problem that needs to dealt with in law. It's done to annoy, frustrate, antagonise and intimidate officers otherwise just trying to do their jobs.

The Gardai are due to get body cams so this will deal with it to some extent.

I agree re the Coolock vid, I wouldn't want to be dealing with that thrash every day of the week.

Once they started shouting and cursing, they were within their rights as Garda to go out, cease the recording and arrest them all.

Aggressive behavior towards a Garda is an offence.

The Garda were being more than reasonable giving them 10 minutes to clear off, the entire bunch should have been put down on the ground and handcuffed.

    Why are we pretending that we have hard working police hamstrung by Sinn Fein (who aren't in government) ;

No they likely dont vote (this isnt a political issue anyway). I dont agree with most of what SF say, but they had support across all areas of society.

I dont understand what your driving at.

      My point simply is,

The Garda gave them fair chance, once there was aggressive behavior towards them (Shouting/Swearing/Intimidating body language) they are covered under the law to put a stop to it and arrest.

Nothing in my post is about any fictional political motive hanging over them.

They were magnanimous with their powers, i feel they should have ended it after the first round of banter at the desk, when they officer arrived into the waiting room in stab vest, he should have had backup and all should have been put down on the floor and handcuffed and placed into cells until they cooled off.

Then either again be generous and give them a chance to walk away, or take them to court to face charges of abusing a Garda.

These people are blight on society.

I often wonder what their inner life is like, to feel that uninhibited, their whole weltanschauung of 'I can say and do as I please and talk as loud as I want', even though they sound wound up in the clip I'd wager a guess that most of these c**ts are actually zen inside underneath it all. If you're brought up that way and live among it all the time then what would actually intimidate or cower you?

I'll give you a example of what the city of Boston, Mass. Is doing with their junkies.

The city of Boston, has put a lot of junkies in a big cage, where they can buy and sell, even use drugs openly. All because of Covid-19. Maybe this could be done in Dublin.

      I can’t post the link.
Just google “turtleboysports” and “Junkie Jamboree”

also you will find the comments section interesting.

Living in Ballybough here. Plenty of anti-social behaviour and an observation would be that there seems to be no shortage of money in the area. I've managed to keep left of it regardless, albeit my car has been smashed in twice.

I was along the grass in Clontarf the other day lying out on the grass, and I couldn't believe the amount of youths on bikes that were swarming around. One was getting a backer, jumped off and tried to rob a mans bike while he was tapping a ball around witha friend. He was met with racial slurs, and that the 12-13-year-old was going to "shoot his paki ma" coupled with gun fingers. It should be noted that the gentleman was Brazilian.

It got me thinking about how possibly programs like "The K" are actually glamourizing the gun and drug culture in Ireland. If the idea is to scare kids away from these lifestyles, it's certainly failing.

      Look at love hate.

      Biggest show ever in Ireland.

      Everyone loved fran and nidge.

      Sure they're great crack.

Don't think 12 year olds are watching a love/hate on the RTE player. A show that was on TV when they were 2.

You get the society you deserve
Population keeps voting for bleeding hearts politicians at local and national level.
So imagine i launch tomorrow a new political party with a campaign to bring law and order to Ireland , Boards would be full of posts about a new fascist party.
Surely you see the Hypocrisy in the way people vote and the society they want?

Voters are not being given a choice as neither of the two big parties are tough on law and order. FG used to be but with the present bumbling idiot they have in charge of Justice & Equality what hope is there?

Bring back Baldy Noonan, Conor Cruise O'Brien and Paddy Cooney - they knew a thing or two about law and order. Bring back the Garda "heavy gang" too as far as I'm concerned.

Teenagers drinking and getting arrested is absolutely normal, whats really worrying is this imported American discourse around racism etc which seems to be pushed relentlessly in Ireland lately, by NGOs the media and gimp 'journalists'
Its almost like there's an effort to sow racial discord and to make Africans resentful of whites and vice versa.

What accent is the dreadlocks speaking with? Doesn't sound Irish at all. The lovey dovey Left keep telling us these people will integrate and become the New Irish© but they don't have Irish accents, don't play Gaelic Games, don't listen to Irish music, don't know our history, have zero roots or ties to this country. I'm waiting for one of their white apologists to come along now and tell me dreadlocks is a misunderstood good boy who dindu nuffin. In fact, he is a scholar on the 1916 Easter Rising.

This C.u.n.t was given every opportunity in Ireland, from residential status to housing to education, grants, welfare, you name it.

      Wheres the gratitude?

All she does is attack, slander, and denounce Irish people as racist.
She should be thrown the fcuk out and barred from ever returning.

With all due respect, what are you going to do about it? RTE will continue to wheel her out as a specialist consultant on race relations unless enough people write to inform them she's a race baiting grifter who invents stories to keep the gravy train going (remember her debunked Ribena story?)

Former PBP member Joe Loughnane used to be RTE's race baiter of choice before he was exposed for beating a white Irish girl.
