    Match 23

A Forum Games regular makes an appearance next against the man who had the longest days ever shown on television
    Jack Bauer (24)

    Stu Redman - The Stand

Jack Bauer complete badass and 24 is one of the best TV shows of the 21st Century, with Jack being the only constant, which says a lot about the character owing to the show's success

EDIT: and he was one of my noms

    Jack Bauer
A cool guy from a great show, should go far in this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 229 ✭✭thelostboys23

Jack Bauer cos he made the CTU

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭Ectoplasm

Deleted User because he is among my favourite fictional characters. Very human, believable and heroic.

    Jack Bauer.

24 rules. I spent many long nights binge watching.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,943 ✭✭✭✭the purple tin

    Stu.
I used to like 24 when it came out first but looking back at it Bauer is just your cliched tough guy.

bubblypop's vote seals passage for the action hero Jack to Round 2. 5-2 the result.

    Match 24

I really wish these guys didn't have to clash this round... but here we go.
President Josiah 'Jed' Bartlett - The West Wing

    Josiah_Bartlett_with_chair.jpg

    VS

Detective Frank Pembleton - Homicide: Life on the Street

Frank Pembleton - As I said earlier, West Wing is among the most overrated shows to hit TV.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Jed Bartlett because the Two Cathedrals episode of West Wing is possibly one of the best episodes of TV and his performance in it is pitch perfect

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Bartlett, the President we all deserve.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭Ectoplasm

Jed Bartlett because I still remember the first time I saw it on TV and hair stood up on the back of my neck.

Oh and can someone please ban H2D for blasphemy :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,943 ✭✭✭✭the purple tin

    Jed.
An intelligent and likeable president with a strong moral code, something we will never see in real life :(

Frank Pembleton just so I can use this gif

    Detective Frank Pembleton
Perhaps the wisest cop on tv, great character

Jed Bartlett leads 4-3 currently, two fantastic characters. Don't make me choose :(

Was it you nominated Stu though?

Nope, this is my first participation in the contest.

    .....................................................

I'm going to vote Jed Bartlett here because 1) I've never watched Homicide (I must do someday) and 2) It's Jed fúckin Bartlett!

    Frank Pembleton.

If he got you in the box he'd get you to own up to shooting JFK while riding shergar with lord Lucan in tow. He made that show (until his stroke storyline)

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,313 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Gary Sin... I mean Stu Redman casts his first vote and it's a decisive one, sending Jed Bartlett sailing into Round 2

    Match 25

Just a few more matches tonight and then I'm off to audiobook heaven.

    Jonathan Kent (Smallville)

    340?cb=20160815134552

    VS

    Theodore 'T-Bag' Bagwell (Prison Break)

    T-Bag-Prison-Break-Theodore-Bagwell-Robert-Knepper.jpg

T-Bag - In a show with a number of great characters, he stands tallest - phenomenal character.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,637 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

    T-Bag.

He was brilliant.. most of the best parts of Prison Break involved him

Jonathan Kent was one of the best things about Smallville and its very tempting to give him a shout out vote, but on the other hand (pun intended) T-Bag was just a fantastic character and Prison Break was great (well the first couple of seasons anyway, but the rest was still enjoyable at the very least)

    Vote for T-Bag

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,943 ✭✭✭✭the purple tin

Oh what a toughie. These are the two best characters in these shows.
I go T-Bag. Even when PB went down the crapper he was always great fun.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

    T-Bag
What an entertaining creep he was

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,313 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

T-Bag shivs John Kent in the back and strolls into Round 2 with a whitewash. Maybe JK will get some love in the Second Chance showdowns...

    Match 26

    HBO Character showdown here...
    Maeve Millay (Westworld)

    latest?cb=20161031070516

    VS

Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson - Boardwalk Empire

    450?cb=20120914221126

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Never really got in to Boardwalk Empire, but from the few episodes I did see Nucky was great, which is no surprise because Steve Buscemi, and in a lot of other matches, that might be enough to get my vote, but I watched a season and a half of Westworld and Maeve was by far the best character, and is one of the few reasons I intend to go back and continue where I left off at some point...

My vote therefore goes to Maeve Millay

  • Posts: 13,688 ✭✭✭✭ Brooklynn Bitter Mushroom

Nucky - toughie but he's the best character in his show whereas Maeve isn't in her's,

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,943 ✭✭✭✭the purple tin

Two shows I've yet to see. I'll sit this one out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,832 ✭✭✭✭TheValeyard

    Maeve Millay

Started off as such as weak victim with no say in her controlled life. Then became a force you would not mess with.

    She is awesome.

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,313 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Just under 15 mins left to go and Maeve Millay leads 2-1

I cant keep up with all these threads. I really disliked Meave so Nucky it is

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,637 ✭✭✭✭Trigger

Nucky because hes played by bloody Steve!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,313 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Nucky Thompson with a late flurry makes it to Round 2. Off to the Second Chance Showdowns with you Maeve!

    Match 27

Final match of the night folks, enjoy...
    Tommy Shelby - Peaky Blinders

    VS

    Max Guevara (Dark Angel)

    latest?cb=20150306075027

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Max Guevera hands down. Dark Angel was a bloody great show, cancelled far too soon, and doesn't get the nostalgia it deserves compared to other shows of that time.

  • Posts: 13,688 ✭✭✭✭ Brooklynn Bitter Mushroom

Thomas Michael Shelby. Dark Angel was grand but Peaky Blinders is different gravy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,943 ✭✭✭✭the purple tin

Thomas Shelby. Murphy brings something special to the role.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

    Tommy Shelby
Don't mess with the peaky blinders, plus he's played by an irishman
