People are dead as a result of a corrupt and unaccountable police force.

    They are far from "unaccountable".

Just two examples in recent years. One black victim and one white victim:

The narrative being spoken about today in the context of the protests is a false one.

now that the white man who impeded the cops was pushed over and fractured his skull, we might get a "white lives matter"

    oh wait

Reports from LA protester interment of sexual assault performed by LAPD. Many more accounts online of what happened with the Jackie Robinson stadium debacle. 5+ hours for some people with no restroom access, a lesbian who was groped by 2 officers, another who was told “you have no rights here.” Through Facebook and twitter testimonials.

Initially the LAPD asked 3,000 protestors, many set on destruction , to play the worlds biggest game of SIMON SAYS... SIMON SAYS please stand still and dont loot or riot.
But the protestors were having none of it.

21:00 " cmon cop, Im going to smash your head and loot this shop "

21:05 " officer I need to pee, can you show me where the restroom is, and it must be an all inclusive restroom, Im very sensitive about things like that. By the way you should get that cut on your head looked at, dont you know throwing yourself into the path of flying bricks is very reckless. My lawyer will be in touch. "

Yes indeed, social justice warriors always complaing about how they were treated after they set about smashing up the street.

    NoNoNo
I think they should be relentlessly called out.
Just as they are relentless with fake news concerning Donald. Because they hate Mr Trump.

There's millions of people that hate trump, why is he above reproach about what he says and what he does?

That the video of the tall man walking right up to the group of cops in riot gear remonstrating with them? Was pushed away?

Are people really claiming brutality here? He confronted cops during troubles. Cops in riot gear. He was lucky they didn’t draw batons..

Was he remonstrating with them? Can you tell me what he was saying? Have you seen a video that shows he is a threat to them?

Looked to me like he was returning a helmet to them when a thug shoved him over seriously injuring him.

He showed have been at home, drinking cocoa watching Netflix and thinking about his college days and that night with the girl from Biology 101.

What a dope , 72 year old man standing in front of a line of police officers, who just before they donned their riot gear were thinking would they see their loved ones that evening or would they be tommorows headline that a no-name cop was killed by a protestor and no body give a crap.

So you think peaceful protest shouldn't be allowed take place? Trump often tweets about China and Irans treatment of protesters, do you think the way that man and many others were treated was any better?

No believes you can control looters by taking a knee.

Two weeks ago white protesters with guns occupied govt buildings and nothing happened.

Now unarmed, majority black protesters are getting attacked and beaten by a police and military presence that hasn't been seen outside of a warzone. People are being injured and killed for exercising their rights to protest. Protesters are being treated as if they are looters.

I hate these childish comments. Any criticism of one side is met with a "well your side is worse!"

If you're unable to see a middle ground between doing absolutely nothing and full on assault and murder, then what's the point in contributing to this discussion?

Why are you making stuff up to suit your argument??

“Police allowed several hundred protesters to peacefully enter the capitol building around 1pm, where they crammed shoulder-to-shoulder near the entrance to legislative chambers.“

he was told move back and refused.

He then approached the police and impeded them.

he got pushed and rightly so.
The fact he was that old and frail was on him, he should not have put himself in that position.

Would you ignore a police warning and impede oncoming riot police ?

    Sorry, making what up?

"In Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating officers beating a woman with baton and shooting her with pepper rounds"

We can go tit for tat if you're just going to post snippets from whatever article support your argument.
Although there shouldn't be a need to post snippets, since peaceful protests should be the norm. No one should be assured for exercising their right to protest.

Seriously, guys, wtf do some of you expect police in riot gear trying to bring law and order back to do?

People approaching them and getting involved with them..During very tense times

There is next to no balanced objectivity with some posters here. The cops are just all bad bad bad; and people should be able to do and please as they like.

The man went out of his way to create this. He created this. He brought this on. He instigated this. The cops in riot gear are doing what cops in riot gear do..

Any person approaching cops in riot gear, or refusing to comply with cops in riot gear....expect them to act..

Impeding a police officer is no excuse for violence.
    Absolutely zero excuse.

The police officer has no authority to use force.

Why didn't he detain him, arrest him, move him out of the way?

Impeded them how? Please show me where he "impeded them" and then show me what threat he was to them that he deserved that treatment. Do you think violence should be used no matter the situation? Even against someone who poses no threat?

It should be noted that police officers shoot dead more white people than they do any other ethnicity in the US

Forget bad eggs, the whole force is rotten.

I like how they didn't feel convicted enough to quit entirely. Cowards as well

A riot police officer when approached and impeded has no right to use force ???

Yes. Unless I am watching another video...

Tall man walks straight up to a police force walking forwards. All in riot gear.

Appears words exchanged, man up very close to cops, gets pushed back and falls?

Completely his own doing...what did he expect?

Utter nonsense..cops in riot gear with people impeding them can’t use any force....seriously, go away..

Just impede them, guys; they’re not allowed use force if we only impede them...ffs

What were they supposed to do?

How about walk around him. ..

The use of force should be proportional to the threat.
There is no way you can look at video and say the force used was proportional.

For someone who doesn't like violence how can you possibly justify pushing an elderly man to the ground causing serious injury regardless of whether he was right or not.

Even the police chief condemned it.

Thats a disgusting view, and I'm no shrinking violet tbh. I find it hard to comprehend your fawning attitude towards the cops in this instance.

It is true. Over 1000 deaths by cops 2019.

    Most casualties were white.

    This true?

It is, but when you look at the amount of shooting victims as per the percentage of the population, black deaths are far higher than white.
