    Again with the 'facts' angle.
Again I must point out how much you are defending the cops who pushed a guy to the ground giving him serious head trauma. What 'facts' would make you think that they are responsible for the injury he suffered.

    What?

There has been no charges brought in this shooting death..

    You do know this?

Calling someone a murderer when no charges have been brought is a little off to me.

So, yes. Probably best to wait..

And I am not defending the cops at all. They did nothing wrong relating to the fall...

I am just giving my view. They don’t need defending, because they did no wrong.

The injured man was the one committing wrong.

You're trying to say that supporting the police is comparable to supporting the Nazi's?

Ffs it's an embarrassment to even type that statement.

if you say anything to some people they dont like they will bandy about utter nonsense like the rubbish you are replying too.

Wont be long before we are called right wing or racists for daring to have an opinion

That probably is the case to some degree, and will continue to be the case until we get to a stage where someones ethnicity is not mentioned when they are appointed to a role.

I suspect that many BAME people or women who are appointed to positions are both frustrated that something they cannot control about their person is such a talking point when they get a new role, but also, that they are trailblazers for more who will get the role in future.

And for those who say, 'they only got the job because they are asian/black/female etc', for years people got jobs because they were white and male, there will be a transition phase until we feel get to a point that people believe that the majority of appointments are based on merit.

Probably when black boys don’t have to get their own “the talk” from their parents. Though I suppose that goes for all minorities. Most go through racial abuse in America.

For those who say the protests will achieve nothing.

Huge corporations have come out in support (nothing new there) and many of their staff have flagged that their support is false until their senior leadership is more diverse.
Minneapolis Police force is likely going to be rebuilt from the ground up.
NFL, the organisation which was vehemently against Kaepernick protesting have said that they now strongly support the call for reform.
NASCAR have banned the use of the confederate flag.
Trump has provided further evidence as to just how unsuitable he always was for the role he currently holds, and how incompetent he is as a leader which will hopefully result in him not being returned.
Divisive statues in the US and in the UK have been removed.
The cops who were responsible for Floyd's death have been charged.

..and Pelosi calls for confederate statues to be removed from the Capitol.

“ [T]he halls of Congress are the very heart of our democracy. The statues in the Capitol should embody our highest ideals as Americans, expressing who we are and who we aspire to be as a nation. Monuments to men who advocated cruelty and barbarism to achieve such a plainly racist end are a grotesque affront to these ideals. Their statues pay homage to hate, not heritage. They must be removed.”

As for the change in newsroom worldwide, as I already pointed out, they have long been politically motivated, it seems that your concern is now because those involved you imagine are newer graduates?

Louisville police release nearly blank incident report for killing of Breonna Taylor, newspaper reports

The Louisville Metro Police Department’s incident report for the killing of Breonna Taylor is nearly blank and includes incorrect information, the Louisville Courier Journal reported.

Three months after officers shot and killed Taylor in her apartment while they were serving a no-knock search warrant as part of a narcotics investigation, police have released the report about the March 13 incident. But the four-page report contains no narrative detail about what happened. It says Taylor had no injuries, even though she was shot eight times. It also said there wasn’t a forced entry, even though officers rammed the door in to conduct the warrant.

“I read this report and have to ask the mayor, the police chief and the city’s lawyers: Are you kidding? This is what you consider being transparent to taxpayers and the public?” Courier Journal editor Richard A. Green told a reporter from his newspaper. The newspaper is suing the police department for the investigative file for the shooting.

Detective Joshua Jaynes, who applied for the no-knock search warrant served at Taylor’s apartment, has been placed on administrative reassignment, interim Louisville police chief Robert Schroeder announced at a news briefing Wednesday.

“Questions have been raised by the Taylor family, their attorneys, the postal inspectors and others about how and why the search warrant was approved,” Schroeder said. “As a result of those questions, I have placed detective Joshua Jaynes, who applied for the warrant, on administrative reassignment, until those questions can be answered.”

Taylor was in her apartment after midnight when three plainclothes officers — Sgt. Jon Mattingly, Myles Cosgrove and Brett Hankison — entered. Kenneth Walker, Taylor’s boyfriend, and neighbors dispute officials’ claims that the officers announced themselves as law enforcement.

Walker thought they were intruders and fired at them, injuring Mattingly. The officers fired over 20 rounds into the apartment, killing Taylor.

Louisville police did not immediately respond to The Washington Post’s request for comment about the incident report.“

Falsifying reports, no body cameras, and a likely illegal no knock warrant. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2020/06/03/no-knock-warrant-breonna-taylor-was-illegal/

If they had killed the boyfriend too would we have ever known any of this happened?

For those who say the protests will achieve nothing.

Huge corporations have come out in support (nothing new there) and many of their staff have flagged that their support is false until their senior leadership is more diverse. Why wouldn't amazon be happy with all their increased sales now that the highstreet shops are shut up?
Minneapolis Police force is likely going to be rebuilt from the ground up. So it's burned down then.
NFL, the organisation which was vehemently against Kaepernick protesting have said that they now strongly support the call for reform. Symbolic
NASCAR have banned the use of the confederate flag. symbolic
Trump has provided further evidence as to just how unsuitable he always was for the role he currently holds, and how incompetent he is as a leader which will hopefully result in him not being returned. fantastic
Divisive statues in the US and in the UK have been removed. Also "Gone with the Wind"
The cops who were responsible for Floyd's death have been charged.
That was always going to happen as long as the video got released.

    FYP :pac:

Apparently they don't want the police to have body cameras because they are racist.

    What do you think?

Taykor's case has been opened. Who knows how much information we would have gotten.

Police forces are banning the hold that killed Floyd as well.

And these are not over yet. There is more yet to come as protests continue.

"They call it "safetyism," in which the right of people to feel emotionally and psychologically safe trumps what were previously considered core liberal values, like free speech"

That might be the dumbest thing I have ever read, and I read Trump's tweets regularly.

It certainly is dumb, it's just strange that this dumb technique keeps working time and time again.

The 160 NYT employees complained about their "safety" on twitter because an article was being published. The woke crowd.

Yeah I agree, I was surprised to see the BLM manifesto looking for body cams to be discontinued.
They're only effective if police aren't allowed to conceal or not release footage after an incident.

I have seen claims that there are more blacks than white in prisons
    Blacks commit more crimes
The police shot more white people than black people last year in the US.

Simply stating something that people do not like, will get you attacked on social media, and any notion that everyone is entitled to free speech is soon forgotten.

I feel sorry for the poor lady shot by police in louisville, that was a disgrace.
I have no doubt racism exist at all levels in the police, look at how Hispanics, and Arabs are also treated

That wont change the fact floyd was a criminal, and whilst it was wrong what happened to him, I wont shed any tears over a drug using thief and armed robber regardless of their color
