deep learning pc suggestions

    Heyjust wondering if anyone has experience on putting a deep learning pc together, I know that usally needs min 32gb of memory and a decent gpu. I want to try and keep it pretty close to the budget as i can so ive no problem buying from any source that works out best price wise.


    1. What is your budget? around 750

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Deep learning / abit of gaming

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? have an old case that should do (midi tower) and i have a 500gb m.2 storage as well.
    5. Do you need a monitor? No

    5a. If yes, what size do you need.

    5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future?
    1920x1080 .Yes later down the road

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? nope

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    8. How can you pay? [Bank Transfer/Credit Card/Laser] all of these

    9. When are you purchasing? in the next few months

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Galway

    Oh sorry forgot to put that in. Its for convolutional neural networks for visual imagery.

    I think cuddles means what library/suite you're using.

    AMD + DL seems like a contradiction.

    I'm probably going to use one of the python libraries (tensorflow/keras or pytorch, haven't decided yet)

    Need to go Nvidia for deep learning GPU.

    Been eyeing the 1660 series in terms of cost Vs performance myself.

    Edit: keras and tensorflow easy to set up with Nvidia if you're going that route.

    The Chollet book is a good starting point if you're only starting out (I've the one for the R interface with Keras).
