Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Did your one just say sure a cure for HIV. What world is she living on? Yes there is anti-virals for it but as of yet no vaccine for it.

    Live long and Prosper

Take it back what I said about the Garda. Didn't realise we had an army person on. Utterly pointless group of people.

Well at least they are doing the Covid tests.

The staff in the private hospitals don't seem to be too busy..
    Irish times 15 May
"Three of the private hospitals taken over by the State to help deal with the Covid-19 epidemic accommodated no patients during April, at the height of the crisis.

Overall, two inpatient beds out of three remained empty for the month in the almost 20 private hospitals covered by the deal, which is costing the State €115 million a month."

People who do the job the best and most - are less inclined to go on tv. (IMO - I'd imagine) - I know the type in work, wouldn't dream of sticking head up.

And - I post this as a self criticism. I'd be a great talker about the job - but not in the top 15 % who can do the job.

Talkers and people out front are not always the best.

As a “frontline” healthcare worker,I find this kind of embarrassing....this applause and fawning over people who are paid to go in to do their job....the hospitals have been quieter than usual since March and staff have had appropriate PPE(for the most part)....the expected horror of Italy/peak nowhere near materialised and not to be twee, that’s entirely down to the public, not the frontline staff....
People of Ireland should take a bow, they’re the ones that meant the horror stories didn’t come to pass....

And they are now being stood down at the end of June, any other country would be using what they actually paid for to treat the public patients. To make it worse those who have private health insurance don't have access to what they are covered for, complete joke.

    Fair play - well posted.

And to be honest - the government need to be honest about where we are - our return to service pace is nuts.

As for that head case of a minister talking about schools not opening in September - Jesus Christ. What a clown.

There has to be people suffering in families at the minute. Money worries, job worries, kids at home, no pub to go too and through in drinking excessively at home. Some children are living through nightmares and they don’t have school, training or friends house to go to.

    Gardai doing DIY jobs eh!?

    999: What's your emergency?

Me: Light bulb gone in the kitchen. Can't see a thing! Get down here fast.
Also, the sitting room could do with a lick of paint. Bring your brush.

She might be referring to PREP which seems to be quite successful in preventing people from becoming infected.

I used the services of an ED department in one of them last week for my stomach. Almost nobody in the place except staff, got full attention and dealt with quickly.
