Apologise, I meant any other recommendations for desks or sources.

    Better change my op.

I guess IKEA might be the easiest unless anyone else knows a better recommendation.

    Thanks

I'm almost finished my build and need to find a decent desk with some storage, similar to below maybe?

Must be from a source that can deliver in the current climate. Must look on amazon too I guess.

Any recommendations? IKEA seem to be delivering.

    Or

Anyone else know of anything similar from other sources that would deliver too?

considering I'll be working from home for ages by the looks of it I'm going to need it from somewhere that delivers.

As someone who recently upgraded desk from the non-corner version of the mikke to the black version of the fredde, I'd highly recommend the fredde, great desk, just make sure you're conscious of the actual dimensions of the desk!

Recently got the one below. No storage but very sturdy desk and very easy to put together.

They wont deliver anything that requires a 2 man delivery .
Their website is pretty terrible ,alot of stuff is only available to be ordered in store for some odd reason ,despite the fact the stores are closed.
Big waiting period for most stuff that they have in stock and the delivery charge is 74 euro for a desk.

Cheers for that mate. Looks perfect but from reading below, there is no hope of delivery at the moment :(

Thanks so much Zardoz, that's kinda killed IKEA for the moment.

    Anyone bought furniture from Amazon?

Also heard Argos are back selling so might see what they have.

Would love same desk as starlord, the fredde so I'll have a look online again.

    Cheers everyone.

Thomann are excellent to buy from, very fast delivery.
Check the dimensions of the desk anyway, not too sure you'd put a full tower desktop on it comfortably. But it's sturdy as anything

IKEA have the desk I want in stock now but no delivery at the moment.

With current restrictions on movement, are there any options?

IKEA wont deliver it either, its the FREDDE desk. Wonder would it fit in a large saloon car with seats down?

Tempted to drive up from limerick side but probably not the right thing to do. Pain the hoop as im badly stuck for the desk.

Even tried a few of those facebook couriers and they dont all seem to be taking orders and some apparently raise the price on items and charge exorbitant delivery charges.

Anyone got any suggestions that worked for them? Not looking to break any laws or anything but going to be working from home for months and need the desk.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Driving to IKEA is going to put at least 120 into your cost.

This any good? It's in Limerick

Cheers, he's accepted an offer on it and waiting collection.

I normally get up and down to Dublin City centre for work for about 35-40, I'm just paranoid about the restrictions and stuff.

Working off the kitchen table and latop is a bit of a pain.

Id say the queues will be mental in IKEA anyway and no options for click and collect either on that item. Typical.

Just to update ,I managed to order some desks and drawers last Thursday from Ikea and had it delivered on Sunday morning by Express delivery.
The regular delivery was giving me dates at the end of July .
I hadn't seen Express delivery available when previously checking over the last month or so.
Kind of weird as the express delivery was 55 euro whereas normal delivery was 74 .

It was a 2 man delivery too so maybe they have started doing them again or maybe I was lucky.

Sorry to hijack but can anyone recommend a narrow-ish (150cm or less) desk with higher shelves?

Currently on an Ikean Linmonn, but was thinking of using a mount and I reckon it'd fall to pieces as it's cheap chipboard.

Found the following on reddit which would be along the lines of what I'm looking for

    https://kalea.com.gt/escritorio-con-librera-trend-ja0900.html

But doesn't deliver to Ireland and is prohibitively expensive!

I fitted this into my small hatchback, albeit with the passenger seat folded forward and the drivers seat all the way up. I had to unbox it at the front of the store, and I wouldn't recommend doing long journeys like that but if you can drop the seats on a saloon you should be grand.

    It's a fantastic desk
