There are people out socialising and mixing but would have a conniption if their working from home was taken and were told they have to be back at their desk on Tuesday.

You really don’t have a clue do you? If I was able to return to the office on Tuesday I’d jump at the chance, sick to **** of being at home now.

Damn, hurts to read everytime even though I know we are miles behind everyone before I read any of these developments

"The Netherlands imposed a far less strict lockdown than next-door Belgium. Prime Minister Mark Rutte unveiled a five-phase plan for easing lockdown restrictions, which kicked in from 11 May.

Libraries are open again and hairdressers, nail bars, beauticians, masseuses and occupational therapists went back to work from 11 May

Bars and restaurants will open to customers from 1 June for up to 30 guests inside and unlimited numbers outside, provide people maintain 1.5m distance.

Cinemas, theatres and concert halls will also open subject to a 30-guest maximum, and face masks become mandatory on public transport the same day for anyone aged 13 and over

Secondary school pupils return to class on 2 June

Campsites and holiday parks can reopen from 1 July, as can theatres, restaurants and cinemas with up to 100 customers with social distancing"

Just so difficult to accept that this shi*e is going on in Europe, 2 hours flying from Dublin, already. and been going on already as early as mid April.... This isnt Russia or China throwing their citizens into "battle" lol its European countries allowing its citizens to live life.

Me too. The lazy ‘stay at home and get paid for it’ mindset doesn’t resonate with me. Half people.

Long summer ahead with these headlines

"Concern among UK advisers at plan to ease Covid-19 restrictions

A growing number of expert advisers to the British government on the coronavirus crisis have expressed concern about plans to ease lockdown restrictions in England from Monday.

As people flocked to beaches and beauty spots in the sweltering heat over the weekend, professor Peter Horby, of the University of Oxford, joined scientists Sir Jeremy Farrar and professor John Edmunds, all members of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage), to warn that ministers are taking risks."

Does anyone else get a feeling that we are now living in a world where socially awkward scientists predict death and plague and are unable to understand that a common person isnt tuning in to the scare mongering? Click into the article, great photo from the beach in England

Just back from the canal beside which I live - plenty of people on picnicking. Woah thats actually a word, thought it wud underline red like half of my words :>

So yeah, noone, noone does social distancing outside here.

Tons of 10 year olds swimming in the canal, like 5 - 6 lads and 5-6 girls standing super close to each other, no phones, just talking and lads are swimming. This is great to see.

Lockdown is officially over just not for businesses, but come 5th of June I would have high hopes. M Martin is pushing, IBEC is pushing, MOL is pushing, like even damn HSE CEO is pushing 2 m reduction lol.

Oh yeah - PS, local Aldi doesnt do social distancing queues outside anymore. Life is back to normal with that regards.

Not my experience where I live

Theres a middle ground to be followed in my opinion. Open up quicker sure but the flip side of that is people adhering to social distancing, wearing masks as advised and good hygiene

I agree but they really got the messaging wrong this week. People have decided what they have decided and rather than lecture people they should have got back to educating people. This is caused by the slow progress.

We have some truly exceptional posters here: those that can't wait for the office to reopen.

I know there's nothing I love doing more than paying a close to grand per year and giving two hours of my day for my commute

Get a new job then. It’s not the world’s fault your occupation makes you miserable. Either way, get off your backside and back to work.

Do you realise Darwinism means people kill themselves doing stupid things?
So a virus that's killing a median age of people over life expectancy and end of life patients, means anyone that is physically able to get on public transport won't be receiving an Darwin award for not wearing a mask

Looks and sounds very staged or rehearsed, maybe hes nervous but it's lacking emotion, whether that be grief, anger or disbelief at people's actions. Not saying he didn't lose his mother but its being highjacked to push a message.

''A further 59 cases of coronavirus were confirmed.'' Not a good time to lift any restrictions yet ! Hope Tony and Simon have stayed at home today, not in Phoenix park with Leo and his mates!

Just because someone has an opposing view to you doesnt make them a simpleton.

The only simpletons of this crisis are fellas such as yourself who can’t quite grasp the minuscule chances of young, healthy and able individuals of dying from this virus. It’s akin to having a fair expectation of winning the lottery sometime in your life.

Yep j aware what it means, hence why the post.

Plenty of people think because they are a specific age, don't know that they have a specific medical condition etc they are healthy, doesn't mean that they are unfortunately.

Fair enough. You stay in your attic eating fish heads while we get the country moving again. You won’t be forced to go outside but you might go hungry.

Ah we know by now this is no more lethal to those fit to be out and about than any seasonal influenza or any other viral respitory illness.
It spread like wildfire through meat plant's and not one death, in fact those infected didn't even miss work, and defeated temperature checks by taking paracetamol.

The median age of death is above life expectancy and some folk are still using the underlying illness rhetoric.

If your fearful for YOUR health, cocoon until a vaccine is available

Swing and a miss lad, been working throughout this, no fear of going hungry or sitting crying because I'm in my house or not.

Maybe not but you are one of a number of suggestible robots in this country who have outsourced independent thought to a petrified government. That’s far worse. I’d rather go hungry.

The second wave of the Spanish flu was more deadly than the first.
And when the second wave comes we will look at government saying it's all their fault...

Comparing an outbreak of the flu during World War 1 when 10's of thousands of men sat in dirty filthy trenches with little or no sanitation which would have caused many other conditions that could kill you, especially pre-penicillin where things like battlefield wound infections and pneumonia could not be treated and comparing that to now is just pure bullcrap...

What evidence of this "Second Wave" do you have? The "first wave" wasn't the apocalyptic 1.9 million people that were predicted to get Covid...
