Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Same team as West Ham . Hopefully Werner is a bit more clinical tonight .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Good result, could have been even better. That Madrid side are there for the taking. They’ve lots of experience but look a leggy old side. Should be beating them at home.

Good first half but more defensive in the 2nd.
Didn't think much of chillwell tonight. He just stayed stationary for most of the game and his lack of putting it past the fist man lead to the corner.
Missed the werner chance as rte player messed up.

There for the taking in first half, cut through the line for fun.
    Werner has to score.

Havertz was unadulterated rubbish when he came on, seemed to think no one else was on the pitch and he had all day in possession, not nearly enough effort from him.
Ziyech just slightly better but neither of them made any claim for a starting spot.

RM are well past their sell buy date . We should have wrapped it up tonight

    This.

You feel Tammy would have at least bullied their CBs.
Wonder what he has to show in training / attitude to get back into the team.

When Reece James came on ,putting on a recognised centre forward would have made more sense in my books .

Pulisic being hooked had be scratching my head as well .

That's another thing I don't understand, why keep feeding Chilwell and James to feed crosses when there's no one to attack them. Anytime they tried along the ground they generally hit the first man.
Havertz a d Ziyech provided less of the same, at least Tammy or Giroud could have changed the approach for the last 15 odd minutes

Nice to see Billy get a start.

Not much muscle in our midfield today, hopefully we wont need it.

Good win, barely broke a sweat should be fresh for Madrid on Wednesday now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

Obviously lots of unfinished business this season but really looking forward to next season in the league to see what this squad can do. Tuchel is top class.

Going to sound like a Liverpool thread but,

    "Next year, is our year"

Although I'd happily take top 4, FA cup and CL wins.

    <<

In al seriousness though, I think with a full summer and maybe 2 additions, we'll be close enough next year.

amazing result by the womens team , through to the champions league final , 4-2 win over bayern

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,387 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

Was great hopefully they can go on and do it now.

Emma Hayes talking to BT "I'm not gonna lie I've worked all my life for this and I'm so fckn proud of those players"

Played a vid of UFC fighter Rose Namajumas telling herself she was the best before winning last weekend to try motivate the players, interesting.

Unbelievably tense near the end. The women's team still in with a shot at the quadruple.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Special one be roma manager next year. Surprised he keeps getting jobs as routine of falling out with players but may get them a cup.

Not like it's a step down from Spurs anyway :D

Feel quite nervous about tonight, UEFA will be against Chelsea as they don't want an all english final ...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Confident we'll go through and beat City too.

Well , should we reach the final will be tough against City, also Zidane he just knows how to win UCL matches...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

I am expecting Madrid to score but it's what we do at the other end is all that matters.

    I think we'll win 2 - 1 on the night anyway.

Dave vs Hazard it is so

Our Mr. Reliable since 2012, and our magician from 2012 to 2019

    Well up for the game

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,269 ✭✭✭Tubbs4

Coming out opposite sides but will mark each other. Silly start to game. Chelsea to win but no ball boys to get hazard sent off

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 349 ✭✭kalych

Good performance from everyone so far... including Mendy. Hopefully we score the second goal soon and cruise from there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,269 ✭✭✭Tubbs4

So far so good. Be nice to get a 2nd for a cushion

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,387 ✭✭✭Wrongway1985

Bit of a shaky start of our own making but gotta be happy with that, great stops from the keeper. Shame Havertz made the wrong decision when he went through could be better off.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

A second would be lovely alright, feel like it could go either way in the second half though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Played well so far.

We're still inviting a lot of pressure but hopefully we can get a 2nd

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

    Liverpool fan here. Superb performance.
You really have a good team.
Tuchel has done a top job.
Any chance you'll sell us Kanté?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

    Well deserved.

Better side over the 2 legs should have been 6 or 7 on aggregate.

Bring on city this weekend and end of the month.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

    Brilliant stuff.

Pressure will be all on City and let’s hope for another Tuchel masterclass. Can’t wait!
