Great, very sensible, even if we've given them a chunky payrise for a couple of months to keep them sweet. I assume Pedro is definitely gone after than but it'll be interesting to see what mood Willian is in, whether he's playing for one last extension or if he's counting the last 2 payslips.

Willian wants a two or three year contract, club are only willing to offer a single year

Yeah I think that has been the stalemate for a while now. If he was happy to take a paycut and fill the Pedro role for 2 years that would be cool, otherwise he'll make a decent free signing for someone for a short while. With Ziyech coming in I'd be expecting him, Pulisic and CHO all to be above Willian in the pecking order pretty rapidly, especially when we're trying to develop the younger two.

Probably among the only times Jorginho hasnt started when available

Barkley isnt the sort of player I’d want at all in the starting line up against City either. Id much rather have seen Kovacic

Same for Alonso, much prefer Dave on the left and James at right back. Mahrez should rinse him

    Great finish by Pulisic :)

Willian converts the peno, gas he scored the clincher in the Stevie slip game those few years ago.

Great win that. Chance of getting 3rd now, confidence should be high for the rest of the season.

Gotta hand it to lampard. He picks a good team.
We're building a seriously good squad

The Pulisic run and goal was absolute quality

He blitzed onto the ball, then waited for the tackle from Mendy to get past him for the 1v1

    Serious composure showed

Massive win last night, real champions league feel to it too. Depth in the squad is right, at CM we're completely stacked, and really going into next season we should be for attacking players too with Werner/Tammy up front and then Pulisic/CHO/Ziyech/Mount/RLC possible for the other attacking roles. RB is good with Dave coming back looking strong and James behind him. LB is poor still and Alonso got caught out a couple of times against Mahrez, but he's looked far worse before. CB is still very uncertain for me, Christensen probably had his best game for us, but the previous week looked like bambi out there. Rudiger is less variable but still not the rock you need at the back. And our ability to defend a set piece is incredibly poor, the Fernandinho chance in the first half is basically one that we concede every game, that's partly because of the players we have, but definitely coachable.

If Villa go down, I wonder would we be able to get Terry in as a defensive coach

    That could start sorting things

I'd say he wants to stay separate from Frank for a while, and he'd be treading on Jody's toes a bit. He certainly wouldn't take the standing still at set pieces **** anyway :D

If there's a need for him as there seems to be, then they'd get over it I hope

If he has hopes of being a manager himself some day then he might see it as best to stay away, wouldn't blame him in that case

Apart from him being John Terry (ie he was a great defender) nothing from Villa’s defensive performances would indicate that would be a good move for Chelsea, and I’m a Villa fan.

2 for Werner today on his last game for Leipzig to become their all time top scorer.

Wasn’t pretty but a wins a win. Quite a poor game overall, Leicester the better team in the first, us in the second.

Great finish by Barkley, and a lovely ball in by Willian. He's been good the last few games, might yet be worth an extension

Barkley showed towards the end why he's not top class at the same time, 4 on 2 bearing down on goal and he slows down, holds it up, then fires it out wide to RLC killing the move and momentum, a top player would have killed off the game there

Not a fan of Barkley really, and I don't see him getting much game time next season, but he's come back pretty well after the break. Reece James on the other hand.....

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

Man u up next. Not a great record against them of late. Be nice if arsenal in the final as easier than city

Just seen the supposed 3rd kit for next season.

Hideous. Unless you want to pretend to be a Palace fan. Can't say I like the new home shirt either. After this season's white away shirt and FA Cup shirt I thought maybe Nike had turned a corner. Nope.

That knockoff palace third kit has been doing the round for a while which hopefully means it's a fake. They'll all look crap with the "3" on the front anyway, their alternate logo "three" would look a million miles better. Leaked home kit is very meh too.

Wonder will we see Art Deco Rice playing CB this evening.

Well Carlo's Everton are certainly doing their bit for us tonight. Currently 2-0 up after 20 minutes. A win in Jellied Eels Land and we can go 3rd. Especially important as Man Utd and Wolves show no signs of stopping their charges.

    Not a bad team.
