Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. wow - great performance - if you had a quality striker - now I understand why you are looking at Lukaku or Haaland - Werner doesnt seam the man

    Happy with Timo.

The goals will come, if he missed any of those 3 sitters I'd be fuming but it didn't cost us.

It's mad, City don't have a CF and we play our CF lw.

False 9s galore in the final.

Rudiger has turned into a beast since Touchel took over .

I don't know what he has put into his cornflakes

Think he wanted to sign him at PSG too.

He was heading out the door under Frank ... the mind boggles

Just sensational. Every man in the pitch put in a great performance.
I don't know what more you could say about Kante!

And absolutely delighted Timo's goal was the decider. His brain usually disconnects from his feet in front of goal but the lad never stops trying!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,826 ✭✭✭✭Panthro

    That was unbelievable!
    Wooo come on you Blues!
    Team looks savage, absolutely savage.

Super Kai, super mount. Super kante.
    Ara the list goes on!

May have missed it or maybe it wasn't shown but a few of Hazard's former teammates gave him hugs and chats and stuff, did not see the same for Tbo

I was hoping we'd get to play PSG in the final so Tuchel and Silva could get the ultimate revenge on that tinpot French side bit we'll just have to beat the best side in Europe right now.

Won't be an easy game at all, this weekend will be a dress rehearsal as both sides should be fully fit.

Focus on top 4 and the FA cup for now anyway.

Wait until the end of May when we're CL and FA cup winners.

A friend asked me today would I give up winning the Champions League this season to come 4th and qualify for it next season

He would be an Arsenal fan of course

That would be some acheivement considering Touchel started the end of Jan and the schtate they were in at that stage .

Right now Tuchel only gets contract extension if we finish top 4. I suspect club will shortly change their mind on that and offer long term contract.

I think even if we lost both finals and finished 5th or lower, he's getting an extension.

He's done far too much good work to be let go.

Leicester losing opens up 3rd and 4th.

Even if we lose tomorrow, we can still jump Leicester by beating them after the cup final.

Ideally, win tomorrow, city have the PL wrapped up anyway but they'll want to win it in style will be very hard to get anything from it.

I'd love to have top 4 secure before the final game so we can rest everyone possible, even throw Cech in goals and Kepa in midfield

A win against City tomorrow would be nice as well since we could rest a couple more against Arsenal before the FA Cup final next Saturday

Any word on this Valentino Livramento kid? Great for Tuchel to give him a bit of experience of being involved in a match day squad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Anthony f**king Taylor and the VAR are on the take.

Delighted Aguero missed after that shambolic call of a penalty and that's before mentioning Sterlings leg breaker that wasn't given a red.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,625 ✭✭✭✭Johner

You just knew Sterling wouldn’t get a red though, wasn’t expecting one.

Christensen has been great this season but still looks a mistake waiting to happen. He gets a lot of protection in this system but will be found out on days like today.

Hoping that Aguero miss sparks us into life in the second half.

    ****ing sweet result.

Just have to beat them again and champions of Europe. Didn't see that coming the way the season was going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Really good second half . Went for the win and deserved in the end .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

    Great win.

Should be looking good for 4th now.

Beat leicester and I'd say we're done and home.

Pep looked like he was losing the rag at the end there. Let the mind games begin.

Well done on the win fellas. A draw would probably have been a fair result, but it didn't happen. As someone once famously said; we go again.

    We'll take that win.
Will tuchel please bubble wrap Kante for the final!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

One more win from Arsenal, Leicester or Villa and I'd say we're bankers for top 4.

Ideally we win all of them but I cant see us needing to take 9 pts, Leicester have us, Utd and Spurs in their last 3.

If we've top 4 secured, we can send out a full rotation against Villa in the last game.l to keep us fresh for the CL, City will no doubt be resting players very soon too.

It's always great to best your nearest rivals too in a short space of weeks before both of here biggest games, for city the biggest game in their history for usz out biggest game in nearly a decade.

I watched the 2nd half on BEIN and Andy Townsend was livid about the Sterling penalty incident saying it was stone wall.

But ya, that tackle was unbelievably wreckless, but Taylor is so anti Chelsea it's a joke.

Cost us 2 FA cup finals too for decisions against Arsenal.

The Sanchez handball before he scored was even worse than the penalty’s he is an awful ref.
Townsend has been anti Chelsea for some time I pay him no heed at all

Fair enough, the second one was a stone wall penalty but the the first one was never in my opinion. Crazy couple of minutes at the end of a first half that city were the better half but in the second I believe we deserved the win.

    watching the highlights again
should sterling have been sent off for his tackle , yes
should sterling have got a peno yes
another very very strange VAR performance
but we deserved any luck that came our way , 2nd half performance was really good, james caused carnage on their left . alonso also deserves credit for forcing their right wb to be on the backfoot too
werner while missing chances, keeps making great runs and this season he's an assists machine .
