Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stop tap location

Ok, I know I’m opening myself up to some ridicule here, but I cannot for the life of me find the stop top to our house!

I have looked everywhere - under the kitchen sink, behind the kitchen units, under the boiler, in the hot press, in the shed (where the washing machine is), under the bathroom sink, where the gas pipe comes in, everywhere!!!!

Any other places it could be?!

The only thing it could possibly be is a small black plastic tap located on a pipe in the kitchen, could this be it? There is another one on another pipe that controls the pressure into the boiler so I’ve just assumed they have a similar function to each other?

    Any help gratefully accepted!!

If you are stuck you can turn it off at the meter (if you have one). Open the plate, lift out the cover and frost plug and you will see the tap. It's easy.

You could try the first one you described then see if you have (cold) water at the kitchen sink, although the mains stop tap is usually very close to where the mains enter the premises.

    Not your ornery onager

We don’t have an ‘under the stairs’ as such but there is a small cupboard with the hot press in - there’s about 7 or 8 red circular taps going in and out of the cycliner - could it be one of those?!

I’ve checked behind the caseing in the kitchen!
