    Ode to Billy Joe Bobbi Gentry ; how the f**k did the Edith Piaf one make it this far, worst song of the entire competition and that's saying something... I love Ode To Billy Joe anyway, but I'd vote anything over Edith Piaf

    I hate some of you so much because of the terrible choices you've made in your lives today (by which I mean in this competition) :rolleyes:

    After all the hard work Strawbs has put in you're all ruining everything by having the worst taste in music... ;)

    I have only one thing to say to more than a few songs that have made it through to Round 2...

    Only three of my choices have made it through from the judge round and here. I'm most disappointed with losing "Cloudbusting" these words in it and songs like it, have helped get me through some of the longer, Covid days;

    But every time it rains
    You're here in my head
    Like the sun coming out
    Looks the sun coming out
    Ooh, I just know that something good is going to happen
    And I don't know when
    But just saying it could even make it happen

    I had lots of songs I could've nominated and possibly would have changed the entire line-up on another day. Thanks Strawbs huge effort to pull this together...and having to listen to all those Madonna songs must have been equally hard :)

    Are people using the score they awarded the track in the assessment phase to make a decision on which track to vote through in these rounds?

    I have but have also been surprised how many tracks were matched up which I had awarded the same points to.

    )

    I had ten make it through to the 1st round proper. Some definitely still in the mix but not sure the breakdown. Know at least 1 has bowed out.

    Just to be clear, I don't have a problem with French songs. It's not because it's in French that I can't stand the Edith Piaf one, it's because the song itself is absolute dogsh*t.

    Not always in my case as most of the songs that made it here were a little middling or low scored by me in the first place so I just went with which one I liked least to go.

    I can't remember the scores I gave, so going on gut for the knockout.

    Tom’s diner was nominated. Hazel and Sam were not. I would have loved to have seen them.

    They’re going on my Strawbs playlist.
