Disappointed these two are against each other. Would have liked to have seen both in the final.

The official flag of Nunavut was proclaimed on 1 April 1999, along with the territory of Nunavut in Canada. It features a red inuksuk—a traditional Inuit land marker—and a blue star, which represents the Niqirtsuituq, the North Star, and the leadership of elders in the community. The colours blue and yellow represent the riches of the land, sea and sky. It was adopted following a process where input was sought from local communities and submissions were solicited from the Canadian public.


It has to be this one for me. I have been reading a lot about it in the last few days so for the interest it has given me in their culture and history and for its symbolism Nunavut ((Our Land) gets my vote.

Easily the two best flags in this competition. Nunavut takes it for me though, it's a lovely clean flag in the midst of a country of disappointing ones.

Though now I can only see NM as an anus, but at least it's not a lopsided anus.

Alaska's probably the nicest US flag, but it pales in comparison to Nunavut, which is just a thing of beauty as well as being quite unique. My vote goes to The Great White North.

Has to be Nunavut. The Alaskan flag is fine but nothing outstanding. Whereas Nunavut would be up there with the very best international flags if Nunavut was a sovereign state.

Nunavut for me. Only 21 years old (April Fool's Day) and the symbolism far outclasses that of Alaska. Deserving winner of this competition.

Alaska, it's far superior to Nunavut - which is ugly as hell.
