Yes definitely a scam.... the link even goes to an address mvh.eg.com.... nothing to do with BOI. Rule of thumb is banks will never send out security requests like this via email.

    Hi swoofer,

Thanks for checking in with us on this.

Yes, this is certainly a fraudulent email you have received.

Just to add, BOI will never send communication asking customers to click a link to verify account or unlock their online banking.

We would ask you please, if you have not already, to delete this from your inbox just in case the link is accidentally clicked into.

We have some additional information here within our Security Zone that maybe of interest to you. It gives advice on how to protect your banking, fraudster tactics and some examples for these.

We hope you find the above helpful. Always check in with us if you are ever unsure of any communication you receive claiming to be from ourselves, we're happy to assist.

You can also email 365security@boi.com , message us on Facebook and @talktoboi

    Many thanks
    Alison

presumably as a result of the roll out of the new app, there has been a massive surge of fraud mails, I've had at least 10 in the last 24 hours, all of them to incorrect mail addresses and the like, and with totally bogus links and the like, they're easy to spot and respond to with the appropriate delete.
Hopefully, the relevant security teams are keeping on top of all of this extra garbage

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
