Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I am using car diagnostics software on our 2016 Renault Clio Mk4 1.2ltr 16valve petrol and when checking the knock sensors, when engine is idling, cylinder number 4 is showing a higher figure than the other cylinders is it something I should be worried about?

    Is the engine running rough?
    Is the MIL on?

You say you were testing the knock sensors. Why?
Most likely there is only one knock sensor.

What does the readings mean- is the TP reading volts or percentage.
What are the cylinder readings shown in ? It's not RPM if the engine is at idle.
Maybe it's a power balance test you were doing?

Coils give trouble in them, but you should have a misfire & a MIL.

    Thanks for the reply:

No MIL on - no DTC errors showed up from ECU with Torque
Just routine testing using PyREN software - just looked odd figure for cylinder no.4
The 11.75 is 11.75% throttle position

I have always thought the engine is a little lumpy at idling , nothing serious but thought it could be smoother , but then again these new renault D4f engines idle at only 650rpm when warmed up to normal temperature

Oh and the wife thinks its a little flat at the moment when accelerating at around 80kmh and didnt used to be

    thanks

I'd be interested to know what the knock value figures are being read in.
If cyl 4 is high, likewise cyl 3 is low.
Stick a set of plugs into it & read it again.
