This situation is silly on its own so why is Fox News still! seemingly incapable of finding enough to report on in what we actually know that they are slathering their own satire and editorialism over their reporting:

    https://www.mediaite.com/tv/fox-runs-monty-python-parody-post-from-reddit-as-example-of-infighting-at-chaz-protest-area-in-seattle/

And by the way, uh, Monty Python is a micro aggression, okay?

So turn a blind eye to rape.

Do you consider rape to be wrong, in any way?

Yes but someone they don't like showed it so rape is no longer an issue.

I've read it more than a few times since you first posted it.

It's the document that keeps on giving.

    It's fcukin hilarious.

The amount of different types of people that need to be represented like a "LGBTQI-identifying Black homelessperson"

And missing from the whole lot is the white male, the council can have anything on it but no white males.

I take it it's all fake, because if it's true then this crowd are so blindsided by their ideology that I pity them.
It 100% real, this is who the Dems are supporting in the states, this is the modern left, these are who the media would paint as the "good guys".

I'm not sure people understand the ramifications of this decision...6 blocks of a city centre involve a lot of commerce and has huge legal implications...for a politician, who can assume was the mayor, to make this call is extraordinary ...how this unfolds is going to have serious implications.

Both the Mayor and Governor are letting this happen. The Governor laughed it off when he was asked about it.

I know things seem bad now but I am happy some people are becoming aware of how damaging woke culture and the far left ideas are to society.

I would say its still only the early stages of this far left push. Inevitably will lead to a push back from the right.

The governments of Austria and Denmark are considered to be far right by many. They are tipping along nicely.
People realise that tags and labels dont mean much in reality. People don't like being told what to do and what is ok and not ok. This will be the far lefts undoing no doubt.

They say society swings like a pendulum so it is always going from one extreme to the other but it can never stop in the centre.

The pushback is here....look at who the President is, look who won the last UK election.

We are in the hysterical phase of extreme left ideology...remember when we had the moving statues hysteria in the 80s....the decade that brought down the suffocating influence of the church...we are in the left equivalent of that...this time the media industry is going down in flames with it....

I think the Democrats at a national level need to distance themselves from this, otherwise it just add fuel to Trump's fire and to be honest I do believe the vast majority of Democrat party people and voters do not support this folly.

The Seattle mayor and governor of Washington need to be sat down by the higher up and told to cut out the ambiguity.

It's so ironic though isn't it.

The existence of this is all because they are protesting against racisms and sexism/homophobia etc etc.

But their council is not allowed to have a white male on it

    It's just daft.

And the chief of police, the person they are railing against happens to be a non white female, who would automatically be on their council.

Yes, we can all agree that far-left ideas are damaging, much as far-right ones are.

But two things I object to are,

No. 1) The far-right acting like they're heroically protecting society from the far-left. No, you're both idiots.

No. 2) The insidious drive to define socialist, egalitarian ideas which have been shown to work as 'far-left', i.e. if you believe in a decent public healthcare system, you're a Communist. And any criticism of Capitalism makes someone a Marxist instead of a person who might actually have a point in regard to the unfairness of an aspect of our current economic system.

The edits are magnificent. We should all aspire to live in a society as egalitarian as the CHAZ.

We will form a unique system called the Conflict Resolution Advisory Council.

We hold a community democratic vote to appoint three people to the Council. To eliminate prejudice, we elect one Black man, one Black woman, and one white woman. Each person should undergo at least one 45 minute sensitivity and political training session which we can help organize.

Whenever there is an internal conflict in the Zone, it will be put to the Council. Both people will have an opportunity to present their side of the story to the Council to review.

The Council members will decide on a fair resolution and provide it as advice. Initially the Council will be advisory only. In the future the system could evolve to become more mature with binding resolutions, impositions, retribution, enforcement, and imprisonment.

The appointed people will hear out and settle any internal disputes within the Zone. We're not suggesting that this Council members become leaders or judges, only referees in case of internal conflicts.

Edit 1: After receiving feedback about inclusiveness we shall include in the council one Black man, one Black woman, one trans Black person, one non-binary Black person, and one white woman (5 4 people).

Edit 2: On more feedback we will add to the Council 1 Asian non-male, 1 Native American non-male, and 1 Latinx non-male, and then 4 additional Black men and women to balance it out. In total there are 3 + 4 + 4 = 11 members.

Edit 3: We've received some feedback about including disabledpersons (mental and physical) and homelesspersons on the Council. 20% or 40% of the Council should be persons with lived experience of disability. At least 10% should be experiencing involuntary homelessness.

Edit 4: We realize LGBTQIA communities are being under-represented in the Council so far and are working on proposals to rectify this. The final composition of the balanced Council will likely include 10-50% people who identify as LGBTQIA.

Edit 5: We have agreed to add 3 more seats, two of which are to give a voice to the disadvantaged LGBTQIA community, and one to give children equal representation and fairness. The new seats include one for a LGBTQI-identifying Black disabledperson, one for a LGBTQI-identifying Black homelessperson, and one for a non-white or mixed race child between the ages of 8 and 15.

Edit 6: There have been further concerns raised over the efficacy of the Council to deal with disputes between children, as children are currently not adequately represented. In light of the feedback, we will add child safety training programs to the onboarding session and add one additional seat for another non-white or mixed race child between the ages of 8 and 15 (preferably disabled).

1984 gets trotted out all the time but this really is Orwell-esque!

There is no debate about it

This is why mainstream Democrats have to nail their colours to the mast and make full sure that they are not supported.

It also reminds me of the cultural revolution in China. Your worth is based on your background. Is the whole point of communism not that to remove privilege based on background.

You just replace one privilege for another. If you are a woman or a black person you are automatically better then a white person even if that white person is poor.

The left has really lost it's way. Needs more focus on income inequality and less on identity politics.

If it's alienating those like myself who would consider themselves left wing I can only imagine the backlash from the right.

Who will sit them down? Pelosi? Schumer? They've become just as extreme and are part of the problem.

What will have to happen is that the more sane and moderate Democrats will have to have a mass exodus [a few have already left. 1 or 2 even joined the GOP] and form a new Democrat party with policies based on sanity and reality and let the Extreme one with Pelosi, Schumer and the Squad fade away into obscurity.

I've said on another thread that one of the biggest problems in America is the 2 party system. It should be required that minimum three candidates from 3 different parties take part in presidential debates and elections. I know in theory it's possible already, but should become mandatory.
