    Check this out...

    https://m.independent.ie/sport/soccer/its-very-much-the-new-fai-appearing-to-do-business-like-the-old-fai-ff-td-marc-macsharry-blasts-covid-deal-39283818.html

    Ugh, the more things change the more they stay the same

    The FAI need to be cleared out from top to bottom. As a long suffering Ireland supporter i'm angry the clowns are still at it.

    I thought this stuff was over?

    What specifically is wrong with them using AMS? It's not like they're some tin-pot company only chosen because he's a director - they're the biggest provider of mobile health checks in the country for just about everything.

    And as for the process and his own involvement;
    “This contract was put out to tender under the FAI’s new Procurement Policy – a policy approved by the Board of the FAI in February - which requires a minimum of five tenders to be invited for all such expenditure.

    “Five companies were invited to tender for this COVID-19 testing contract by the FAI’s Procurement Unit and three applications were received for the competition, conducted by the FAI’s Procurement Unit.

    “The contract was awarded by the FAI’s Procurement Unit and signed off by the CEO and a Director, as per the FAI’s Procurement Policy. All those who tendered have been informed of the result.

    “Dr Alan Byrne declared a potential conflict of interest to the FAI before the Procurement procedure began.

    “Dr Alan Byrne did not play any part in the Procurement process on behalf of the FAI and was not involved in any way with the Advanced Medical Services tender bid to the FAI’s Procurement Unit.”

    A spokesman for Advanced Medical Services added: “Dr Alan Byrne had no involvement whatsoever in our tender for the FAI testing programme and stood aside from the process.”

    All sounds like the correct steps were carried out pretty transparently... would love more specifics on the problem you have with the process and decision. (the link you gave is paywalled, so I don't know what's contained therein)
