    Sorry Nigel, I'm just re-reading the flavour.
    Based on the OP, we assume Fiona is the unknown protector (Hercules) and saved Steve. Hercules power doesn't mentioned anything about killing the attacker.

    However..

    Based on the flavour:
    Steve and Derry cornered
    Steve is attacked by the attacker (Derry neither attacked nor the attacker)
    Unknown protector emerges and saves Steve
    Derry dies and Fiona dies. (attacker and protector)

    So in other words, one of Derry or Fiona was the protector and the other was the attacker

    I personally still think the flavour points to Derry as protector given they were cornered but whatevs.

    Am I missing something obvious here? Why are people presuming Fiona was good. Is there a reason why Derry couldn't have been the good one. Without autopriest it would seem unwise to be jumping to conclusions because our perceptions of who was the good villager can influence how we perceive those who interacted with them.

    Yeah, it's not really clear why the attacker died (no mention of Hercules killing someone in the OP) but maybe not too important

    That's probably the important part there - it's not lock clear for Steve, he's more likely village than not at this stage

    Initially we read Fiona as the protector who emerged from the shadows to save Steve but as you can see from the entire last page that theory has been thrown out the window and we don't really know anymore.

    Looking at the wagons then from last night if Derry was evil would there be another team mate on Jake?

    That's if Jake was good. If Jake is evil and Derry is evil that's probably the only evils up there I'd say

    Fiona if evil doesn't give us much with voting old Vernon who had absolutely no posts...

    The only things we know for certain from last night are:

    Fiona and Derry are dead.
    We've lost one roled villager.

    I agree that Steve is more likely village but not confirmed.
