Have taken on Mogul here in the next with Mohican Heights really liked his 2 runs last year for Fozzy Stack and then David Simcock. Think there is a bit of value there at 4/1

Mad to take on Mogul. But couldn't have backed that winner with 3 more selections.

My bet on Arthurs Kingdom was no good, but I am delighted.

I missed seeing the race when I got a phone call from an IT repair guy.
He had my old PC for about ten days and tells me he has finally fixed it.
That old PC has pedigree software that I need badly and use every day.
My 2016 and 2020 PC are fast, but that old program is vital.

That is my Royal Ascot winner. :D

The winner had a bit in reserve.

Mogul was tubby and was it that or maybe he didn't stay today? ( went backwards rapidly after closing in on the winner) Is he an 8-10f horse, can he be transformed from the yoke that turned up today?

Mogul looked to be coming there nicely and Moore seemed confident, looked like he blew up to me.

He's a genuine group 1 horse. Lots of horses get beat by better horses. He is a superstar on his day, that is a fact. If you can't see it then you can't be helped.

That's a whole new level of dumb right there...............

Would that be a similar asterix that will be next to stradivarius if it wins the GC without "its conqueror"

Jubiloso after drifting to a pretty nice price there. Was intending on having a bet but 4/1 + was more than what I pencilled her in at.

New World Tapestry is a big price after a decent run in the 2000 , where he did nothing right. I don't think he's putting it in and the day will come that he'll actually put his head down. Russian Emperor should win this, but ill go with value

    1 Point ew 50/1 365/hills/vc

    5:35

I've liked 2 for this for while now. Beatboxer and Petrus are both capable of getting into this on their best form and were covering both sides of the draw as well.

    1 Point EW 40/1 both , generally

    4:40

Hochfeld looks interesting here at a price. He was very consistent 2 years ago and went amiss last year. He should be ready to go here of a nice mark.

    1 Point EW 33/1 5 places various

Must admit, i fancy very little today.

Japan is extremely weak in the betting overnight. I must say I thought he would take the beating. Perhaps he will need the run but if he drifts much further I'll have to back him. Currently 2.6
Like Slattsy I don't really fancy a whole pile. Arthurian Fable ill back in the 1.5mile handicap. Think the step up in trip will be ideal and think his mark is fair even for a maiden.

The Hunt Cup is probably my favorite race of the week and I have a shortlist of about 7 but will try to whittle that down to at least 3 and have a few small stakes on each.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,085 ✭✭✭The Tetrarch

Yesterday wasn't too bad, seven bets, seven losers, but only Euro 5 each. :P

    Today horses not to follow

    13:15 Plantadream 29s
    13:50 Berlin Tango 6.6
    14:25 Convict 9.2
    15:00 Japan 2.38
    15:35 Qaysar 22
    16:10 Mighty Gurkha 7.87
    16:40 Alright Sunshine 13

(One of my dogs is named Sunshine)

Is it just me, or was the racing a bit uncompetitive/below standard yesterday?
There were a few tight finishes, but many horses were tailed off in races.

You should probably back the American horse also in the 4.10 :D

Only fancy today is an each way double 30.5-1
    Ouzo 1:15, 7/2 6 places
    Bell rock 3.35, 6/1 7 places
Their form ties in with each other off the Newmarket run 10 days ago as the 2 drew clear of the rest, ouzo hasn’t been caught yet by the handicapper while bell rock has a 5 pound penalty for the win, bell rock finished very impressively that day and I think he could be able to handle the penalty. With the places on offer I think it’s a pretty solid each way double

Ascot14.25Arthurian Fable "Arthurian Fable was desperately unlucky not to get the verdict on his return at Newmarket, his strong run just being denied. As it was a Sunday, however, he was not re-handicapped until after the entries were made for this race and he gets in 5lb lower than would be the case next week. The extra two furlongs will be in his favour as would a strongly-run race. Great value each-way."

Have went with Japan at 2.62. The drift is a worry but I suspect it is due to the rain and easing of the ground for Addeybb. But I still think the price is a bit of an overreaction.

So one of mine is unsuited by the softening ground, and the other now has no chance because of the draw. :o Could be a tough week.

Going for Russian Emperor in the next. He should be cherry ripe after his previous run.

Based on yesterday, and the 'Silver' Hunt Cup, you'd imagine those drawn high in the Hunt Cup will have a massive advantage. Maydanny won his side easily (Drawn 5) and yet hadn't a prayer with the near side group.

Good shout there. He was the intriguing one for me also but I stayed away from it. Didn't look like he would get there until about 20yds from the line.
Looked like they went very quick and he was almost outpaced in the early stages.

I thought he was value because the favourite was likely to be overhyped and overpunted due to the Royal connections.

The run of 2,000 Guineas 5th Juan Elcano casts doubt on the 2,000 Guineas form translating to the Derby. The same with the Racing Post Trophy win of Kameko, the beaten horses then haven't done it this year.

Ya I didn't really fancy the fav myself after just the Kempston win. But easy to say that now.

It's a pretty extraordinary year so will see how it fairs out. I do like Kameko though. Maybe not for the Derby but maybe up to 10f. Time will tell I guess.
