Rumour is that close on 100 countries have approached the IMF this year, there is an international sovereign debt crisis in the offing. That is why we hear all the talk about the Green economy, it is a cover story to mask the implosion of the current system.

    The Great Reset
    Remarks to World Economic Forum
    Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director, IMF
First, let me first talk about green growth.

Governments can put in place public investments—and incentives for private investments—that support low-carbon and climate-resilient growth.

Many of these investments can lead to job-rich recovery—think of planting mangroves, land restoration, reforestation or insulating buildings. Think of the key sectors for reducing carbon intensity where both the public and private sector can invest.

I am particularly keen to take advantage of the low oil prices we see today, to eliminate harmful subsidies and introduce a carbon price that would work as an incentive for future investments.

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

I'm not going to defend some of the aggressive posting styles of SF supporters. But you're entirely missing the point. You're content to ignore some of the disdainful and outright insulting codswallop that was coming from the other side.

I'd argue it was worse. It was people having a tantrum about an election result they didn't see coming and weren't able to come to terms with.

I lent SF a vote as in all honesty, they were streets ahead on thinking about housing policy and a basic interrogation of FG's taxation proposals were actually highly irresponsible (despite the marketing bluff of 'fiscal responsibility'). I and a lot of people don't want a cabinet and a government that can't admit painfully obvious failings, and I don't think giving succor to a political movement that throws their toys out of the pram when the failings are pointed out to them is healthy.

As a movement this is actually what FG is. They can't deal with it when the 'clever boys' narrative is exposed for what it is: bluff.

Did you not vote for Violet Anne? a person who robbed from a charity and now spends her days on facebook insulting anyone who dares to ask a question?

Not sure where you lot have pulled this one out of (second poster in two threads peddling this). I'm not from Clare and I've explicitly criticized her.

Being in the plan is still just aspirational stuff. It'll be prioritised and quite a bit of it will be the next governments plan between 2023-2025.

Sorry, I was sure it was you who posted on Violet Anne thread. Please accept my apologies

In terms of FG falling, have you read the SF manifesto for the election? back of fag box is best description.

TO be fair after the local elections they thought they would get zero votes so didnt even bother their arse putting something proper together/

That's more 'clever boy' FG marketing bluff.

IBEC weren't mad at it. And large parts of it were better thought out than the FG orthodoxies. FG's personal taxation proposals were giveaway guff that would make Bertie blush, and many commentators said so at the time.

To be honest as a SF supporter in the last GE this sham of a government will only play into their hands. The greens could easily be shattered again by this when the forecasted economic downturn kicks in. That'll put way to the million a day spending they have advocated for.

FFG will probably morph into one party now. Whats the point having two parties with identical policies?

Meehole helped Bertie, Cowen, lenihan and Dempsey etc destroy this place.

It's sickening that he will be Taoiseach. All for his own ego.

Anyone who believes that this lot have a mandate are deluded.

SF supporters wonder why the rest of the population look down on them. Well it is this type of post which is why. Are you incapable of using a persons name?

I see posts all over this forum from supporters of all parties. Everyone is capable of using the person name. SF supporter come on and it is some stupid name. Why do you do it? do you think that people will think you are clever?

They have no substance, so they resort to juvenile tactics as an alternative.

The vitriol that SF have instilled in their voters is
    worrying.

I agree. I don't want to see US or UK still divisive politics creep in here.

This goes back to knowing f*ckall about what happened with the last crisis

Actually the last crisis, the blatent unfairness of the responses to it, and its ongoing effects in areas like housing, is the cause of much of the vitriol. As is FFG sticking their fingers in their ears and pretending the victims of that crisis are just lazy and responsibile for their own plight.

& knowing f*ckall about SF have done when in power in the north or how workable their proposals are.

Fair enough. I didn't vote for them for this reason.

They’re just one election away from playing the Trumpian “they took arrr jobs” card.

Decry vitriol in SF voters, and then make a groundless accusation of xenophobia against them, without seeing the irony.

Levels they can cope with? Get real will ya, hospitals have never been so empty and staff never so bone idle, unless you count in the tik tok routines. They have been that way since the start of the “crisis” when every other health condition people may have became none of their concern. You’d want to stop watching Rte every now and again and get some fresh air.

Actually how come we haven't had thousands dying on the streets when they haven't been able to go to A&E.

This lockdown has proven one thing that too many people go to A&E unnecessarily.
And a lot of that is down to GPs as well.

The diagnostics and cancer treatments, etc should all be back up and running if they are not.
I do know some people who were getting continous cancer treatment, but they were either in private or non acute specialist hospitals.

    Can't stand FF or martin.
Can't stand shinners as two face murdering bast***s still in charge.
Can't stand eejits in Greens with heads up their organic ar**s.
Can't stand Labour since the likes of Spring and Quinn left.
Now can't stand FG with that virtue signalling media loving cretin in charge.
And don't mention all those cretins in loony land PBP, etc.

Snakes the lot of them. People didnt vote for this ****e. Mehole Martin.

It's like putting Larry Murphy in charge of the rape crisis centre. FF ruined the country and Mehole was at the wheel.

    Good old Ireland.
Over 50% did. Compared to the 24% that voted for SF who "won" the election.

Am the same, but FG are the last man standing so they get my vote until something better, more fiscally right wing, comes along.

Was this kind of expected? A platform for a potential leadership challenge?

Leo absolutely dying for the Greens to vote against it. It looks like FG could win 70 seats if there was an election in 5 weeks.

I'm not sure he has leadership ambitions. I think he's pushing 70 now. He turned into a bit of a contrarian in FF since 2011.

Young Dev. I always found it funny the way they call Lisa Chambers Young Bev because of her connections to the Flynns (Beverley Cooper Flynn was her first campaign manager).

I look down on FG supporters as they sit by and watch the rich get richer and the poor get poorer, going back on what they were elected for.

To me thats the definistion of a scumbag or skanger.
