I know everyone needs a break at some point but 6 weeks in the middle of everything going to **** is taking the hand.

The government usually take a longer summer break to be fair. Much too long. I do think FFG need to go and regroup after the worst start to a government in living memory. They need to strengthen this arranged marriage and learn to communicate.

Maybe they will do a U-turn on the holidays and come back earlier to address the real problems facing the country as we sink further into recession.

We came out of a recession before. They are for us sucker's to scrape our way out of and fix. People still voted for the same clowns again.

Everything is not going to pot, apart from the 'skool' plan. Phase 4/5 is a Cabinet decision and there's no massive urgency to be there for anything else. Remember we're still in pandemic mode, even if it's an eased version of it.

Some clowns are better than other clowns, as a glance across the Conference Centre will show you. People just vote, a lot of the time that helps choose the government. These last couple of elections the politicians have had to make it up, so it's not entirely their fault.

As far as I know most of the European governments are also taking a break now.



If they hold off and then take a break later in the year when the rest of the governments are at work imagine the up roar then?


To be honest at this stage its fairly childish the carry on of people. Damned if you do and damned if you don't is the attitude.

To be fair, while the Dail won't be sitting and the likes of Paul "Foghorn" Murphy will get a rest, the Cabinet will still be working away preparing for the October budget and the estimates. It won't be full-on but any of them will be lucky if they get two days in a row of no meetings and phonecalls.

If any ire is be directed anywhere, it should be at the opposition who have nothing to do and will do nothing as always while the Ministers and junior Ministers will keep working away during this period.

He could in theory still go, but he'd have to self isolate for 14days on his return, the same as Michaél Martin was supposed to do when he got back from Belgium (also not on the green list)

Murphy might actually do what Michaél did not though.

Given my observations of Varadkar as a human being and as a politician, I'm certain that such a person would hold Trump in utter contempt. In fact, I can't think of an Irish TD who would have admiration and respect for Trump. Can you?
