    Prime Time

Stephen Donnelly: Leo made some good points in his interview on Claire Byrne last night

1 minute later Miriam said people felt he was unduly critical

Stephen: I didn't see the interview

This is what we are dealing with, no accountability and no answers

He was the same on Newstalk this morning, said he hadn't heard the interview, Coleman read him out the few key lines Leo said last night and he just flat out refused to comment repeating the same line.

I don't think it's plausible to believe he hasn't seen nor heard the gist of that interview since last night and tonight.

Some of these days that young Ptrick Donovan lad is going to go postal in a TV studio. Losing the plot on the Tonight Show. :)

Listen to this proper socialist. Now that's the sort of thing people could get behind. The pitch is wide open for Labour to score a spectacular goal.

    This is interesting.

They needed a good leader. Then they went with Kelly. Be a while yet, if ever.

She can ask her Boy Friend, a FF TD whose party is a member of Government.

He won't give her an answer it's the FG/FF way

Plus she put the question to the Dáil not a private convo with her boyfriend. (Both are well aware what's going on as is everyone else who sees meat factories with cases continue as normal)

Kelly is a fine Labour leader. The dude could have made a multiple of what he's earning if he had kept up his solicitor business, or taken a job with his brother's firm.

He's a proper pragmatic socialist. The country needs far more of them. The sort of socialist who believes in their core principals, but isn't afraid to get into Government and deal with the realities of limited budgets, while also delivering on a vision that brings everyone along on the journey. Ireland has been so lucky to have had FG and Labour coalitions. That's when the change happened. Social and Christian Democracy remain the finest forms of Government that humanity has ever come up with. Extraordinary tbh.

It's the difference between student union Marxism and proper social democracy. Kelly is doing a fine job so far.

    Comes across like an arsehole.
Being keen to enter government never worked out great for Labour. They didn't deliver what they were voted in for, neither did FG, but let's stick with Labour. A party supposedly for working people has no business slumming it with FF or FG.
Kelly is mouthy, and FG light IMO.

FG, FF, Labour, SF, SD etc represent this 'working people' class that people are so keen to categorise.

Paul Murphy, Richie BB, Gino, Ruth, Ming, Claire Mick 'Italian Vineyard' Wallace can continue to do their thing where they come up with all of the problems, but none of the solutions. I don't doubt the integrity of at least two of the above list btw, but the reality is their sort of student union, rage against the machine rhetoric isn't going to become a reality. It's very silly stuff.

The Labour Party are the party of proper working class politics in Ireland.

You've posted this before trying to give Alan Kelly an online hand shandy and I've no idea where you're pulling it out of, but you keep repeating it.

Alan Kelly has never even been a trainee solicitor never mind had his own legal practice.

Prior to poltitics he had some sort of woolly lower management job with Bord Fáilte, but that's about it.

Of course they all claim that. Was more thinking of the Kinnock clip. Closest we have to that kind of a Labour party is PBP. When you listen to that clip and look at FF/FG with all the advisors anyone partners with them can't be up to much.

Well plenty of people have proposed solutions. Dismissing them doesn't mean they don't exist.
Saying the others have no solutions as an excuse to allow carry on with bad FF/FG policy is hopefully fading.

They've not been for a long time.

Again you display a remarkable naivety about how things work. You do realise she probably knows the answer to the question she is asking and that it isn't always the purpose of a Dáíl question to get the answer. It is to get it on the record and to hear the Taoiseach or Minister defend or excuse.

It's FG arrogance in the extreme methinks. They expect when they get into government that 'politics and how things work to stop'. The opposition should start behaving like silent supplicants and not inflict damage on the government when they can.

P.S. I suspect, the way some of the FGers like to scold us all for our impertinence to criticise that they are good male FG stock, like to wear the trousers and do plenty of mansplaining.

Don't you know that the opposition should be seen and not heard and for those in pesky people that don't do as they say well they should be labelled as anarchists or idiots. FG are akin to the Pope, they are infallible.

Looks like Drew Harris has turned a lot of the population against the government now with his carry on this morning.

Donegal nursing home with multiple Covid cases is owned by same company as Laois home, coincidence or slackness?

    Mary Harney is a director

Thousands of kids/teachers and people late for work, kids waiting outside for teachers to arrive as they were held up on crazy checkpoints.

Fair enough checkpoints but bit of cop on with the time, 99% of people on road at that time were taking their kids to school or on way work.

You can defend it all you like but we both know they won't be out that time tomorrow as they will be told cop on

In order words, they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

No in other words have a bit a cop on and realise upto 9am the majority of people will be on the way to school work etc. Kids in some schools had to put diff classes together until a teacher arrived as with teachers and subs missing their wasn't enough to mind all the kids (Going against all Covid Guidelines)
School buses were held up, an hour in some cases.

If you think that's acceptable, fair enough
    8k tailbacks in Dublin

And to think that this was done on purpose by Harris. Disgraceful behavior to use the Gardai in this manner. All he has managed to do is turn people against the Gardai.
