So what percentage of the electorate?

Seems you don’t understand the background to Irish water, but sure most don’t

Half the clowns out protesting didn’t even realise why it was such an issue for some people after FF the great party put in Ireland should have free water

There hasn't been a poll on it but I would say every single voter that did not put FF and FG as their No. 1. After that I would say many grassroots in FF and some in FG that want to stall the rise of SF. FF and FG are almost identical now.

Excellent, you finally responded to my multiple posts on Irish Water. Now precious it's question time

Q1. When was Irish Water set up? Answer = July 27, 2013
Q2. Who was in government in 2013? Answer = Fine Gael and Labour (for 2 years)
Q3. Who set up Irish Water? Answer = see above

    Here you go....

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/environment/irish-water-timeline-from-march-2011-to-july-2018-1.3567056
March 2011: Environment minister Phil Hogan begins setting up Irish Water.

January 2014: Controversy emerges over the costs, including bonuses and levels of pay. An Oireachtas Committee hears €180 million in start-up finance was approved, much of which would be spent on consultants.
May 2016: Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil reach agreement on the formation of a minority government. The deal includes the suspension of water charges within six weeks of a new government taking office, lasting for at least nine months.
May 2016: The installation of water meters is to be reviewed. To date, approximately 820,000 of 1.05 million meters have been installed, costing more than €500 million.

I believe the meters will need replacing in 10 years too...

More self serving nonsense. Yes the laundries and homes for unmarried women were a shameful disgrace but were primarily driven by the grip the Catholic Church had over the whole country so that no government had the bottle or even the independance of thought to intervene. And they should have.

1000,0000 miles away from a 30 year deliberate campaign of death and thuggery by Sinn Fein IRA until they took power. What kind of person can put a bomb in a crowded pub of young people they have never met? What kind of person would send sick young men out to murder an unarmed man in front of his family? What kind of person do you think Dessie Ellis is? Martin Ferris? The yob with the Kingsmill loaf on his head? Slab? Who do you think is going to mix with them or the likes of Mary Lou trying to carve a grubby career for herself on the back of it all.

It is not OK to murder other people for a united Ireland, money, status, power or any other real or imagined reason.

The first Dáil was full of people who did similar. So bad was it, that details were locked away because of their ability to destabilise the new state.

Violence is indeed, not ok, but it happens and has happened.

Like what happened under the care of FF and FG in this country, I am sure you will now pivot to the 'it was different' or that is irrelevant' excusing now.

You can disappear down the rabbithole on your own. For me, the conflict/war is over for SF and the majority of nationalists so now it is time to honour the commitment to bring them into the democratic decision making and running of the state.

You may get over the fact that that is a done deal and they are here to stay.

Sinn Fein don’t want to go into government anyway.

Sinn Fein haven't done a stint as the largest party in opposition yet either. They only had around 15 seats for the past 10 years. They were very much a fringe player in the Dail. Their election result in 2020 was incredible and it could have been better if they knew the support they would get. If I was advising SF, I would advise them to avoid government this time around, especially when there is a chance that FF&FG will essentially amalgamate fully after the 'confidence and supply' coalition. Also it's never a good idea to be in government when a major recession is looming. I would also advise SF to throttle back on the use of the word 'change'.:o

So thats OK then. Make Dessie Ellis Minister for justice and get rid of the Special Criminal Court, appoint slab to the high court and put the Gerry McCabe killers on a patriot pension as heros of the revolution - and sure Uncle Gerry can be President.

The Cormac O'Hara show on Radio 1 (1pm-2pm) was a shocker. So much bitching and moaning and shoite talking. Awful stuff.

The SF guy (Eoin O'Broin) was particularly annoying. A complete head wreck.

The Green TD (not sure name) sounded the most capable and intelligent.

The old fox from FG (Bruton) knew when to keep quiet.

The FF guy sounded like a chancer.

Michael Fitzmaurice (IND) just wanted to talk about bogs and peat.

Hard to listen to them all talking utter nonsense. The economic recession will rubbish all their waffle and promises.

Sounds to me like the Greens are being lined up for blame even before they enter government.

Print media politicos still after that well paid government press gig.

I think it was Eoin O'Broin on for SF.

Good to see Fitzmaurice out and about again now that the danger of government has passed.

If it happens, like any other democrat you will have to accept it...no?

Not that I think it will ever happen like that but SF are not put off by the likes of you running candidates for the presidency. They are here to stay therefore.

Yeah that was him. The guy with the Harry Potter glasses.

At least they are giving much less airtime to David Cullinane who gives me the creeps. He was forever on the Tonight Show until his stupid singing after the election. Always came across as untrustworthy.

the first day Dail 'photo optics will be nauseating. Uriah Heep Fianna Fail firstly, with trailing along behind them [at last, at glorious last], the Fein Gael. The entire Lot then, all Together, all on the one, the power, side of the Dail.

Fianna Fail will be saying, like Jimmy Cagney, - "Made it Ma", "top of the World".

Leo, relegated from the Taoiseach's office, trying not to look awkward having completed the rehabilitation of FF. May have to invest in attention grabbing socks or quote Mrs Brown or such like. :)

I believe the meters will need replacing in 10 years too...

The meters won't need to be replaced after 10 years. what will need replacing is the battery in the transponder, which sends the metre reading to the collector. But since the domestic customer isn't now being charged, there is no need to read the meter.
An awful mess, IW, fully at the feet of Coveney and Hogan. Others were minor players.

David Cullinane just seems incredibly pretentious. Doubt he would have got such vote whatsoever, without... his Local Police army of - Thugs.

    .

So in other words you have no idea but seem to think you talk for the Irish people?

You do know the reason Irish water was setup was because of the bailout and it was one of the terms!!!

Irish water was never a decision made by any party

Only a small component will need replacing. A bit like changing the oil filter in a car. Just some basic maintenance.

Well up to a point you are correct.

What the electorate will make of the lies they were told
As pointed out to you already
    Lies refer to past events
You cannot tell lies about future events
Otherwise when Someone says they are going to be a doctor,a vet or a lawyer but don't get the points, you are calling them all liars
    That devalues the word
FF did not get the votes to rule out an FG coalition
    Politics is that simple

If I say I am not going to eat sweets ever again knowing I was going to eat sweets.
The first part was a lie.

Please don't pretend that the excuse for this was not given before as, 'shure we all know politicians say things like that before an election'

You are so used to being lied to you have begun to call it something else. :)

You can't tell a lie about a future event?

What a load of nonsense, ask any adulterous going through the front door telling his wife he's just going on an overnight golfing trip with the lads, and him about to pick up his mistress and head off on an overnight hotel stay with a Viagra in the breast pocket.

Some mental gymnastics there in your all out defence and no mistake.

Lots of FF voters supported the RA, FG TDs visited republican prisoners in the Maze, it's not all black and white like some would like to paint it. FG condemn the Provisional IRA yet hopped into bed with the Official IRA .
Lynch s cowardice created the RA

That's a lie, because he's en route to an event other than the one he is saying
Its impossible to lie about a future event because it hasn't happened yet and might never happen
