Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Its also the fact that he is Brian Cowens brother.

Remember him - he was at the helm as Finance Minister when he drove the Irish economy off the cliff.

It would be like Berties younger brother getting the job of Minister and nobody having a problem with it.

    A few questions.

Why don't they perform background checks on government ministers, and if they do, why didn't a drink driving conviction show up?

Secondly, did he make a complaint about the garda record before now, and, if so, why has it taken so long to resolve?

Thirdly, if Mr Cowen is telling us the truth here, what will happen to the garda involved and will Mr Cowen be reinstated?

Fourthly, what does an ex FF government minister have to do to be criticised by his voters?

He was caught between 8:30-9pm. He had driven from Dublin. As adult male passes approx. 1 unit of alcohol per hour through their body. What was his blood alcohol level like when he got into the car is something I'd be more interested in? He claims he had 2 pints with a meal before the match (throw in at 3:30pm). I personally don't believe he only had 2 pints.

Sorry, I have zero tolerance or sympathy for drink drivers.

That was truly a selfless act.
Almost exactly what Tony Blair did over there, leaving Brown to tend to the scuttling valves of the ship.

Tests confirmed that Wright's blood alcohol content was above the legal limit. As a result, he was fined and banned from driving for two years.
