Oddly enough, I believe that it's posters like yourself who seek to shutdown discussion that have driven so many posters away from boards. It no longer matters whether someone presents a logical/reasoned argument, someone will come along to cry "racist!". It gets tiresome having to deal with those who won't post in good faith, and won't stand behind their reputations (established logins) when crying "Racist!". It's hard to have an opinion that doesn't conform with the wave of intolerant woke posters who need to show their outrage.

Can you see the connection here?

Doubt it, I've worked in construction for 20 years and never seen one working on a building site .

There is a ton of Nigerian doctors and medical specialists working in Ireland. Although unless your were building a hospital you probably wouldn't notice that from your site.

Go into any hospital public and private in Ireland and you will see so many African doctors.

Now I am not a doctor but I'm pretty sure to become a doctor is one of the most challenging career paths to choose and requires high levels of intelligence and years of graft. You can't just learn it as you go like in industries such as construction.

Between gang wars in France, Turkey planning to invade Greece, the BLM riots during a murder virus - this is one ****ed up year.

Bloody Nigerian doctors coming over here treating our sick and injured and saving our lives. Why don't they go back to their own countries?

Would love to see the numbers for this, a ‘ton’ is a bit ambiguous when counting people.

It's a full on alt right Neo Nazi site these days. Just look at some of the comments.

Other Irish forums are nowhere like this because the overwhelming consensus in Ireland is support of multiculturalism and tolerance.

Boards.ie seems to be getting progressively worse with racist views, I imagine many of the advertisers currently keeping the lights on will reconsider advertising on this site if this trend continues. It's already pretty brutal.

This site used to be so busy, some great topics and really good atmosphere but slowly the race topics started flooding in, racist users joined and started saying nasty things, most of them could barely spell so the quality of the posts went down and then we had these never ending circular talking points about why other races are bad. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence knows that someone being from a different country, or skin colour or religion doesn't automatically make them bad so the smart people got tired of boards.ie and left in absolute droves. It was like a brain drain and in its place came all the alt right users we see today.

It reflects badly on those users you claim that left that they were unable to defeat these alt right knuckle draggers in an open debate forum and had to scurry off to other sites where if you say "I disagree" you get a notification that this might be offensive to other posters *cough*journal.ie*cough*. I've taken them on on several occasions.

If you can't see that our media and public discourse is broken and one sided and labeling any point of view you disagree with as "alt right" then there is really a problem. You are just reinforcing them.

Like "remove Direct Provision" .... I agree it's terrible but what do we replace it with? Do we just allow anyone in who wants to come and provide them with a 4 bed house at the taxpayers expense? If you can't discuss topics like this then it's you who are the problem.

So if you get sick will you turn down treatment from a foreign doctor? You'll be waiting so.

How many times does it have to be pointed out that that demographic is not the problem?

    10 times? 20 times? 100 times?...

The French police are especially brutal when beating up unarmed protestors. Look at the cowards here, running away when they meet some actual resistance.

Bet they won't be so brave when the Chechens break out the AK47s.

So we just take the 'good' ones then? As decided by you?

I don't think anyone's impervious to illness these days especially with a pandemic and everything.

It was more the circular arguments that you just get tired of. Then the constant threads of any article that involved crime and a person of ethnicity. If an immigrant robbed a packet of crisps in a shop and it was in the paper then you can bet your house that it was getting posted here with hundreds of comments.

I think a lot of the more insightful, intelligent posters just got tired of it. Anyone with a brain knows that people are people. Most are good, some are bad but your environment will always dictate your likelihood to being involved in crime not your skin colour or religion. If you grow up in a disadvantaged area whether you are white, black or Mongolian you are going to be more likely to commit crimes and the reverse is also true no matter what your ethnicity.

Even if you could stomach the above and wanted to continue the repetitive debating then you were arguing with such low quality posts with really poor grammar and in a lot of cases incoherent sentences. The difference in the quality of posts between here and Reddit is night and day and I think its because (for whatever reason) a lot of the racists appear to be less educated and in a lot of cases seemingly with learner development issues. Boards.ie is dominated by these alt right users and it really shows in the quality of the posting.

Doctors, Nurses, highly trained professionals, that's what we wanted. Instead we got a tiny amount of highly trained professionals and then a huge number of unskilled migrants from socially unadaptive cultures.

The folks you see running riot along the Dart line or selling selfie sticks in Rome, they are not the sons of Doctors and Professionals.

I don't think many people here are anti-immigration. We just want better immigration. We're not here solely to better their lives, they are here to better our country and to be rewarded for it.

I'm in hospital fairly regularly due to an illness I have and unless I'm blind it isn't awash with African doctors or nurses. Plenty of nurses from the Philippines and Asia alright though

What posters like Ryan seem to conveniently ignore is the rise of these events, which aren't created by "racists". People are simply reacting to them. They like to pretend that these "racists" were made in a lab over night and then just decided to take over boards. None of this is happening in a vacuum, no matter how hard you try and present it as being so.

“The man who lies to himself can be more easily offended than anyone else. You know it is sometimes very pleasant to take offense, isn't it? A man may know that nobody has insulted him, but that he has invented the insult for himself, has lied and exaggerated to make it picturesque, has caught at a word and made a mountain out of a molehill--he knows that himself, yet he will be the first to take offense, and will revel in his resentment till he feels great pleasure in it.”- ― Fyodor Dostoevsky, The Brothers Karamazov

99% of the people causing trouble on the DART are white scumbags from Donaghmeade.

Selling selfie sticks at known tourist spots, how is that different to Irish lads selling scarfs and hats on match days for example? I've no idea why that bugs you so much and considering how many tourists (including Irish) seem to buy them then theres obviously a big demand for them.

The vast majority of immigrants contribute to our country and guess what? It's been proven that immigration has a net positive impact on our economy so what exactly is your issue?

Ongar , Tyrellstown and ballbriggan must be the healthiest places in Ireland with the amount of doctors living there

Well by that logic it's safe to say Kildare is not doing so well if a man of your impressiveness is pegging around the place.
