My mother needs the back step extended about 8 or 9 inches. It's a very small step at the moment. Would it hard to extend it. I'm hoping just build frame and fill with concrete. Do I need to do anything to ensure it bonds to ground and step

Thanks hope ye understand what I mean

Yes put some framefixers or sometimes "anchors", sticking halfway out into the new cement. This will assure the 2 steps stay together.

i'd also stick some anchors into the ground where the new part of the step will be (assuming its concrete)
