I am in a course at LYIT and unfortunately the majority of lecturers have been atrocious with both quality and speed of feedback. Had I paid the full 6k for this then I’d be extremely p’d off.

    I had to Google LYIT.

Is that the data center one?

Got my timetable for the postgrad course from DCU yesterday. It's getting a bit more real as the days tick by and more and more emails come in.

Submitted the last of my nine assignments this evening. It has been a challenging year, even without the demands of college on top of everything else. Big thank you to the OP for starting this thread. One step closer to a Fetac level 9 because of you.

Sorry if it has been answered before but is it possible to do another course after finishing one this academic year?

Yes heard from a friend you have to pay 20% of the fee and you have to be advancing. So I dont think you can do two level 6s in a row etc. This could all be wrong however he wouldnt be one for citing his sources

Your first course provider have to confirm to Springboard that you have completed the first course before you can apply for another, you may have to do a bit of chasing in this regard so start asking as soon as you have completed the first course.

You can do three courses in a five year period however, you cannot do two courses in the one academic year. Also, Level 8 graduates must wait for a period of one year from graduation before they are eligible to do a Level 9 Springboard course.

I was told by UL that applicants who have not previously received funding are given preference over those who have.

See question 2 on the FAQ. "I successfully completed a Springboard+ course in the past. Can I do another one?"

    https://springboardcourses.ie/faq

    Detailed document available also: https://springboardcourses.ie/pdfs/Guidelines%20on%20applications%20from%20previous%20Springboard%20participants%202020.pdf

Are you sure of this? I am finished a level 8 this weekend :) and I am thinking of trying a level 9 in Sep?

Any word on when the 2021/22 courses will be released on a document similar to last year?

There should be a big push on this soon, so should be plenty of courses available

I got a letter from AIT today, I'm on springboard with them, and it says

"We have submitted over 60 programmes for springboard+ funding, of which we will know the outcome in early June 2021."

I took that part word for word from the FAQ section of the Springboard website. You should contact them to clarify it as I don't know myself.

Thanks, I have just sent them an email.

Can I ask did you did you complete a springboard course in UL this year?

Yea, I submitted my final assignments for the Certificate in Management last week.

Yea, I submitted my final assignments for the Certificate in Management last week.

How did you find UL to deal with, and what was the standard like? Also, how long did they take to get back to you after you'd applied? I'm thinking of doing a course with them myself come September, so any info would be greatly appreciated!

I found UL absolutely brilliant to deal with. Very organised, very professional, highly recommend them.

That's good to hear, hoping to get the Diploma in September, found the cert handy enough as an introduction to the topic. Glad to hear you enjoyed the degree as that is obviously my long term goal. Did you do the Cert and Diploma aswell.

I found UL good to deal with, everything was very well explained and straight forward, hoping to go on and do the Diploma with them in September.

I applied for the Cert through Springboard on 11/07/20 and I was offered a place on the course by UL on 14/08/20.

Can anyone clarify whether you have to be in receipt of a social welfare payment for nine months before applying for a HCI course, or before the course actually starts?

No I went straight into level 8 due to having a level 7 and tonnes of work experience.

In case anyone else is wondering the same thing, I've got confirmation that it's nine months before the course start date.
