Eerie stillness here in Cavan. I live up high and it’s strange not to see even the slightest sway in the trees.

unfortunately that's far too late for a lot of people, 8pm to 12am would have been ideal.

Unfortunately that’s not how it works!!:pac:

Will probably sleep through it, nothing wakes me from my slumber! Dublin calling here.

But look forward to reports tomorrow just the same, and thanks in advance to the lightning chasers!

Lots of convection here in south Laois. Bit of a SE breeze going - might mix up the air a bit!

Getting misty in North county Dublin and cooling somewhat. The sky says thunder but the cooling going on suggests otherwise. We live in hope :)

You would have to be honest and say damp squib so far.
Any risk now seems to be entirely for the East coast and possible sporadic storms across Ulster/North Midlands

Looks like the Snowdonia mountains are giving things the extra ooomph needed, more cells kicking off there now. Maybe the Wicklow mountains will do us a few favours later.

It's just never got going. Proves how much of a nowcast thunder is, as well as snowfall. Those charts last night were immense. But conditions just weren't right for it. Onto the next event, whenever that is...
