Nope never heard of this backwards party. Sorry they can all go and live in the face they have been living on for the last 30 odd years or more. Ireland has moved on and progressed. Last thing we need is a party that wants to take us backwards. Them posts above show that. RTE Anti-Catholic good about time too. The Church had far to much power for tolong so good riddance. Anti immigration why so we can end up in a mess like the UK no thanks. Anti-Abortion the people have voted already. I am sorry unless this nothing party comes out with some forward thinking instead of backwards thinking they are going no where. The only good thing they had or have was for a 32 county Ireland but we all know that is not going to happen soon. Maybe in 2 or 5 decades time maybe but not soon. So ye I for one would not be voting for these nobodies if there was an election tomorrow or next year.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Because they are all on social media.
Social media is becoming a big problem. The less intelligent are being sucked in and brainwashed. It's quite frightening.

    This ^^

If you get your "news" or your "information" from Facebook then you are an idiot.

I'm sorry to be so blunt but the amount of shíte you hear spouted from these clowns is all from Facebook.

Anyone who starts their argument with "I saw it on Facebook" is an idiot.

Apparently we all knew better than the Garda Commissioner anyway... Guess the previous "degenerates" you mentioned were in fact with the far right idiots.. Amazing they stood out at all.

Look I'm happy for yous all that the garda clarified no far left involvement. That doesn't mean everyone there was far right. Unless you think anyone opposed to loc k down must be far right? Good few ooh ahh up the ra types wearing Bobby sands gaa jerseys, I certainly wouldn't class those people as classically right wing. And I also did state I didnt believe there was any far left party involvement.

Seemed to be idiots from all facets of society there alright.

Maybe we should just do away with let and right and just class a lot of these people as "idiots".

Facebook should be forced to use their algorithms for good , a lot of easy ways to indicate low intelligence from poor grammar to following psychic/medium/homeopath pages , discussing trash ‘reality’ tv etc.. and hide political / conspiracy content from them .

Jacinta , 28 , follows love island, calls her kids her ‘angles’ , posts pictures of spice bags and has ‘live laugh love’ on a wall - algorithm hides the liberal and the morning star and gemma o doherty

Id say 50% of the people there are just gullible conspiracy theorists with no real political feelings either way, just want their boozer back

Yeah I agree, this isnt America or the UK. The lines get very blurred here when trying to fit people into the left or right. There is a huge crossover of views from either side.

We know there was definitely far right party involvement with the National Party actively there all over the place with leaflets. We also know the far right Q anon types were there. A lot of the far right such as Irish Freedom Party, Anti Corruption Ireland, Siol na hEireann, Renua, Yellow Vests, Direct Democracy Ireland, National Party all style themselves as "Nationalists" and "Patriots" - you're right the types you mention above are not classically right wing but they are to some extent linked to the far right because the far right uses all this Nationalist rhetoric e.g. you seen them often referencing 1916, Irish flags etc

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I'm not so sure about the 'less intelligent' thing. From discussions here on Boards and on Twitter, many of the people involved in various angles of this crazy stuff aren't actually low intelligence - they are normal people, with college education, capable of reasonable debate.

Gullibility seems to be separate to intelligence, so there's something else going on here.

They don't and there is not. Doing some very basic reading up on who's active on the Irish far-left and far right would help, as would trying to understand what both wings want.

Nationalism/the North might complicate things at first glance but the fuller picture is pretty clear when you factor in policy goals around immigration, tax, the size of the state, religion, unions, LGBT, conspiracy theories, law and order, whether or not the queen is a lizard with webbed feet and so on. That's fairly basic stuff and tends to be very consistent with UK and US norms. It becomes quite easy to identify one from the other, which is why so many people left, centre-right and centre were so annoyed over the Harris/RTÉ gaffe.

The people involved on the far left and far right in Ireland are very different people who want to achieve very different things.

Which is ironic, considering how many of those that fought in 1916 were socialists, and would not share the same views of these protesters.

It already was a shared responsibility thing . The people participating in that are mostly low educated, poor and gullible welfare and working class individuals. The exact group of people both the far left and right prey upon for votes yet throw infront of the bus when they do something they disagree with.

The only effort being made here is by left wing posters to try and make all those people ‘part of the far right’ and a push back to say they cant just denounce them now because they did something stupid.

Many of them weren't socialists. Read the writings of Pearse, read about Clarke. I'd say their views match closely with some of the protestors. Even Connolly as a socialist was extreme in his views.

It would surprise you that a lot of people you would class as being on the right would agree with a lot of the aspects of socialism, but not while we have mass immigration and welfare tourism.

They've got a dog in the race so it's important to them.
I remember when a left wing protestor smacked a garda in the head with a camera tripod outside leinster house. What I dont remember is the condemnation of it or even a big deal being made about it.

Yesterday was a violent protest lead by the far right. Your deflection is drivel.
