I wouldn't have thought so...Veep is brilliant, she is also in Curb and Seinfield...that is success in any one's language.

I'm aware Kaitlin is in Curb but the carachter isn't great in it....

I'll stand by this 100%, Seinfeld is sh!te!

I agree...but it is the one of the most successful tv comedy series of all time she was integral...Curb was/is one of the best I have ever seen, Veep is brilliant...that is some CV.

Can we all agree that jews are funnier than all of us and work back from there...it mightn't be so divisive that way!!!

I'd never heard of her, this is really, really good.

I'm convinced the OP started this thread to promote some talented women in comedy, in which case well done. I don't give a toss whether it's a woman or a man telling the joke, I doubt if many people do, even the OP.

The ability to make someone laugh is one of the most admirable talents.

Welcome back, dude. You need to be careful in threads about comedy these days. There's a lot of angry men (it's always men) who don't like people suggesting they find female comedians funny. I think they understand the concept of comedy at some sort of base intellectual level, but don't actually find anything funny. Like a comedy sociopath.

They might get a bit obsessive, so be careful.

The Johnny Flash paint by numbers post.

    1. Use the term ''angry men''.
    2. Call someone ''dude''.
    3. Get thanked by Emmet Spiceland.

On topic, great shout on Kaitlin Olson aka Sweet Dee from IASIP. For my money, one of the best comedic actors, male or female, on tv. I also love Kristen Wiig's delivery in her various film roles, think she's fantastically funny.

Nikki Glaser is a funny women. Best known for her roasting (which doesn't take much talent) but I've seen her in other environments and she's a hoot.

    It used to require talent.

I don't like Jo Brand and I either switch over or leave the room if Hyacinth Bucket is on.

Nina Conti however can be hilarious, talented ventriloquist with fast wit and timing.

Joan Rivers was about as funny as an aneurism

A croaky bore of a woman who spat out dirty sh1t hoping it woud be edgy. She was sh1t

The only reason she is admired is because the admirers don't want the piss taken out of them.

What was funny about her? Cursing and screaming in her sh11ty New Yawk jewish crap?

Less funny than Andrew Dice Clay.

    Tina Fey.

30 Rock ...the unbreakable kimmy schmidt.

Obviously this is also down to the huge talent of Tituss Burgess and carol kane.

Okay yeah have to agree Tina Fey is very funny and a great comedy writer but that's it only her!

I dunno, I kinda feel funny women are really having a bit of a golden age in stand-up, comedy acting, writing in books and for the screen, satire and so on.

Our own Sharon Horgan is a great writer and decent performer, Tina Fey already mentioned but SNL has produced many gems down the years, Kate McKinnon, Adi Bryant and Cecily Strong on the current cast, and I would encourage anyone to check out the work of their new cast member Chloe Fineman on Youtube, her impressions and sketches are superb.

Sarah Silverman, Nikki Glazer, Diane Morgan, Rachel Parris all very smart comics. Julia Davis another great writer and performer in the UK

Sometimes i just want to sit down for five mins without a waist trainer ...

I KNOW women like this! And it's getting worse!

Sometimes I'm like this. YOU SHOULD SEE MY SKINCARE ROUTINE ...IT HAS ELEVEN STEPS!

    Facial scrub
    Facial wash
    Cleanser toner
    Face mask
    Vit c serum
    Vit B serum
    Facial mist
    One moisturizer in certain areas
    Another moisturizer all over
    ANOTHER moisturizer all over
    Sunscreen.

    Leslie Jones is funny.

Well that's where I find objectiveness to be bizarre. Leslie Jones, spittle, mcsavage, Rory's stories....

People find that funny. That's mad.

I suppose it's like music. Who the **** listens to *insert number one*

I wouldn't want to be a comedian in this day and age though. The amount of ****ing hoops you need to jump through to ensure you aren't offending anyone or say anything that might get you cancelled if you ever become famous.

    Load of bollocks

The BBC has a policy of at least one female comedian in most of those comic game shows.

Sometimes it works, other times you can see the tokenism if they're too quiet or not in the same class as the male comedians.

Especially the female comedians whose material is focused on women/women problems. They're not as good at improv or smart come backs.

I have a soft spot for Shappi Khorsandi, and I also think Nina Conti's ventriloquist act is funny. (And I so would, in either case but that's beside the point)
Jo Brand at her best is very funny too.

    Oh.... Very funny...

Living up to the stereotype I see...

    Classic, yet contemporary women comedy...

If you don't find us funny, you are an outdated bigot.

Does a massive disservice to legitimately funny female comedians.

There you go. Proof that comedy is subjective. I agree with you on all of the above - except Jo Brand, who I don't find funny at all.

Sarah Pascoe, Morweena Banks,Diane Morgan,Doon Makichan are all brilliant comedians, in their own right, regardless of their sex and are miles above all the PC virtue signalling that pervades discussions on females in comedy these days , where you are supposed to applaud/respect/patronize any female comedian based entirely on the fact she is indeed, a wamen, whether funny or not. (Take a bow , Richard Herring).
