North facing wall

I have just had a new wall built in my back garden replacing an old wooden fence. I have removed the old shrubs that were there and have it cleared for planting.

It is a very sheltered spot now. What I am wondering is whether there are any type of roses that would grow in this spot, or should I be looking at something else.
I'm a novice when it comes to gardening.
All advice appreciated

Dose it get any sun? I've two "New dawn" Rose's growing on a wall that gets about 3/4 hours of sun a day and they are doing very well.

Some of it would get sun for a few hours in the morning from probably March to September, but in winter would be in shade from the house

I wouldn't worry about winter light as a rose will he dormant. Personally I'd give it a go . That way 2ft hight this time last year

There are some lovely roses that will grow in shade - James Galway is one of my favourites, just check out David Austin roses and look in the 'shady' section. Also some clematis, ferns, berginias, honeysuckle (put in substantial wires for it, not trellis) hostas (though snails like to live in the berginias and pop out to the local hosta restaurant) lots of woodland bulbs, pyracantha, masses of possibilities.

How about a pear tree trained as a fan, or a fig if you can confine it.
