I was about 14 or 15 when I was pretty certain that I was gay, as when I pleasured myself, forcing images of sexy women into my head - they would invariably be replaced by those of sexy men.

I struggled for quite a few years thereafter, going out with a couple of girls and losing my virginity with the latter girlfriend, hiding my sexuality until I could no longer live a lie and came out after my J1 in San Francisco where I pretty much threw open my closet doors. Sex with other men was 1000 times better than with any woman I had been with.

I can really appreciate a beautiful woman and there are some women - strong, intelligent, beautiful - that I am attracted to - like actresses Sigourney Weaver, Uma Thurman, Susan Sarandon and Julianne Moore - but my orientation is predominantly gay for sure. I’d say I am about 90% gay. Men do it for me on every level - physical, emotional, spiritual.

I do think that sexual orientation is a spectrum, with most people falling at either end of the scale. At times, it makes me very angry at how society oppressed and persecuted LGBT people. So many countless lives destroyed by intolerance driven by religion.

    No, not really.

Like, if I saw a chiseled man man with a six-pack, I would think to myself, "wow, he's really good-looking"

But if I saw the same chap with his big vein-y member in hand, with a lascivious look in his eyes, i wouldn't be into it.

Yeah. I think your sexuality exists along a spectrum, probably, and I've walked that line. I don't think it's fluid, though. I think you very quickly realize your position, and in that way, it's fairly black and white.

Ahh... in my experience from observing other people I'd say that's mostly true for the majority of people.

However, I was/am bisexual. My sexuality was fluid throughout my teens/20s/30s and has only in the last 6/7 years started to become fixated on women, although there remains a definite attraction for men. It's just that it's been years since I have met any male who really floats my boat.

I think it really depends on whether you meet someone fairly early in your life to settle down with. I didn't. My experiences were more casual and I didn't start having longer relationships until I hit my 30's.. and they never lasted longer than 2-3 years.

I’ve never had any doubts about being straight. I’ve only ever fancied women or watched females in porn and the idea of being with a man would be a big turn off.

That said I am regularly mistaken for being gay by strangers and I’ve often been chatted up by gay lads on a night out. I asked one of them one night why he thought I was gay and he said I give off gay vibes.

If only I could have the same luck with the ladies !

Lets do a bit of a thread crossover, isn't she one of the funniest comedians ever? I usually listen to podcasts when I go for a jog and one day I was listening to her being interviewed by Louis Theroux, I really had to stop because I was laughing too hard. Someone in the other thread said about Tommy Cooper that he just "has funny bones", I think you could say the exact same thing about Miriam Margolyes.

Boys at my school used to share cigarettes, cups etc... if someone offered to me I would refuse. Also I could lick a girls feet but would wash my hands straight after some man shaked hands with me. But things changed after teenage I become less interested and curious about sex but still attracted only to women.

I haven't ever questioned my sexuality for the one simple reason that the thought of getting really up close with another ladies fanny makes me truly shudder. But I do frequently admire other females, like if I see a beautiful arm, or hair, or eyes. I can be captivated with admiration. Much more so than I would admire male beauty. Attraction is the electrical charge with the male though which is not based on their objective aesthetics.
Having said that one of the most vivid dreams I ever woke up from was full on sex with a gorgeous black woman - I am not sh1tting ya! - and I was like wtf did that come from! :D:D

    But nope, other people's fannies...nope.

I did, when I was in my mid-teens. Myself and the best mate experimented with each other. Don't think either of us were gay, just that we were not lucky with the ladies, and any sexual contact was welcome tbh. So I've given head and taken it up the hole. And I knew soon after that that no, I prefer women. It takes a strong man to be able to take it up the jacksie (and women too, in fairness). One thing I never did is kiss a man, so while I've had dick in my mouth and arse, never had a male tongue in either.

But haven't gone near a man since. I can at least say I tried and discovered it's not for me. But by Jesus do I love boobs and vaginas. I could spend hours playing with both, especially vaginas. Just love them. There's such a variety and I have my preference.

Being honest, I get neither sexes these days anyway. Pretty sure I've seen all the porn on the internet.

It's not often someone is so open about teenage experimentation.

Like Potential- Monke, I also sexually experimented with a good mate in my teens - two mates, actually. Not full on sex - or kissing- but mutual masturbation where we wanked each other off.

We were about 15/16 at the time and at that age you are a packet of pure hormones and so horny you would shag a cracked plate. :D:pac: Both of these mates I experimented with are pretty much straight - and are now married with kids. One of these mates, we talked about what we did years back over a feed of drinks - and put it down to teenage randiness and laughed it off. I’m sure he still wouldn’t dare tell the wife though.

The other guy I experimented with, no way would he be willing to ever talk about those two experiences and that’s fine with me. Stigma and all that. Ancient history in any case.

Well done to Potential-Monke for being so honest and upfront about his same- sex experiences as a teenager. I have a feeling it’s actually pretty common with teenagers - especially boys - but due to societal stigma and shame around sexual matters remains too big a taboo for most to acknowledge.

Another issue I had was when I noticed a fella and I thought he looked good but I never wanted to do anything with him. I think I just wanted to look like him.

This is so damn true. Half the time I'm not sure if I wanna sleep with a guy or try copy him

Receiver for the blowie, giver for the sex! Strangely enough :pac: However, I can see why men like it. There was a feeling (quickly overtaken by a stinging sensation, but howsever) and it was quite nice! And fair play to anyone that gives good blowies, it's not feckin easy!

I feel the same, it happens a lot more than people let on, and even on here people may have this image they want to keep and admitting to a bit of teenage fun with the same sex may damage that image. Me, pretty sure only about 2 people know me in real life, and i'm also pretty sure both of them haven't posted in a very long time (except maybe 1, I can't quite remember if I know them IRL). Helps that I usually don't remember usernames so take every post as genuine unless it's screaming otherwise!

But I'll be honest, I'd admit it in real life too. I just won't put forward the conversation, but I'll admit (and have previously admitted) to experimenting. Shur if you haven't tried it, how can you be 100% sure? Isn't a **** technically gay? And women seem to love to talk to a fella who admits this. I was inundated with questions, and subsequently got an inside look into their lives as they suddenly started admitted to experimenting themselves (but usually only said this to me directly).

I feel very boring. I've never wanted to experiment, and have always known I liked the chaps. I can certainly admire the female form of others, but in a detached, observational, rather than lustful sense. I've never even been curious about dining below stairs, I'm just plain, uninteresting, straight.

I went to a girls boarding school and I do think teenage experimentation is more common than people realize as JK says, though it wasn't terribly open - at least not in my experience/observation. Although I am not particularly observant, tbh.

When I was mid-teens, I had it in the back of my head that I'd maybe be into lads in some way. With my first two female sexual partners, the sex just didn't work out well. With hindsight it was because we were just eejits and totally clueless, but at the time it made me ask myself some questions. I never recoiled from seeing a cock or anything the way some of my mates would, which made me think maybe I was actually gay, but I was far, far too self-conscious and utterly terrified of the stigma to act on exploring it. I just didn't do anything with anyone for a couple of years.

Got into college then and ended up in a sexual situation with another lad (gay) and a girl (straight). Everyone had a go off everyone in one way shape or form; I failed to maintain erection in the lads mouth and that girl rode me to orgasm in seconds. Those two fairly chronic embarrassments, combined with nearly breaking my neck fifty times a day with it swivelling to look at all these ridiculous women all over campus and pubs and just around the place, the likes of which I'd never seen in my tiny rural hometown, rather put the internal gay questions to bed for me.

You don't have to experiment with the same sex to have experimented. Some people are just sure, or know (like yourself) what they do and don't like. The aforementioned lack of lady contact is what led to me experimenting, along with a friend who was basically in the same both and saw a mutually beneficial situation. I'm fairly confident that if I was successful with the ladies I wouldn't have been in that situation.

It is bad form that people used not be able to tell the truth, or at the very least openly discuss it. But a lot of that comes from old Catholic Ireland. Thankfully it's changed now for the most part (there'll always be the cnuts who just refuse to accept).

I guess the question you ask yourself is when you first started ****/schlicking as a youngster the emerging "bank" was populated with...

    A. Exclusively opposite sex? Straight.
    B. Exclusively same sex? Gay.
    C. Mix of both sexes? Bi/gay/straight...tbc

I was A. Never "thought" differently and so never questioned it.

I was a teenager in the 90s and I barely knew what a lesbian was, I certainly didn't know there was bi-sexualism, so the idea of experimenting was a million miles from my randy thoughts of the boys in the CBS.

If both your holes are filled with cock and your a male its gay. Unless you were innocently bending over naked and these tWo naked guys were running along the road with excitement and didn't see you. Then accidentally trip on top of you where one (accidentally again) entered your mouth and other accidentally entered your arse. Then your not gay your just accident prone with a mouthful of gunk and a sore arse.
