Really surprised this is happening this year. Accommodation in the area all sold out too. Any word if any other events will get up and running?

If you are thinking of booking this you should be aware that one of the terms and conditions states that there will be no refunds if the event is cancelled. You have to go right to the last stage of booking to find this.
I couldn't find any reference to Covid 19 measures on their website so they seem to think everything will be back to normal by then!

I've seen people say that but I can't seem to find it
Should the event be abandoned or postponed, no entitlements to refund shall arise. If the event is subsequently rescheduled, this ticket shall be valid for the later date unless otherwise advised by The Event Promoter.

But then theres this bit and cancellation would be materially different.
Event partners reserve the right to make reasonable
alterations or changes to the programme, staging or seating of the event without prior notification & without being obliged to refund monies or exchange tickets unless such alterations or changes make the event materially different to the event that the average consumer would have expected when purchasing a ticket.

Best case, i file a chargeback.

Worst case my money goes to a dozen local causes.

Yes, I was looking at the "Should the event be abandoned" line but accept that cancellation could be different.

One other thing that I hadn't previously spotted is the absence of any accident insurance. This is normally included for Cycling Ireland members and available/manditory for others through a one-day licence. I think CI require that a recognised cycling club be involved in the event before they will recognise or sanction it.

Great route though - my memories of the Rebel Tour are tough but spectacular.

we were due to travel down for this, but unfortunately we've had to cancel the weekend. And now I won't get my annual fill of pints of Murphy's either dammit :(

Anyhoo...point is, that if you look for accomodation now on AirBnb, you might find a house available in Mountain View estate. Lovely house, we stayed there last year. raging we can't make it down.
