    Spot on.
Most of the posters in this thread struggle to even admit racism is wrong. All well intentioned people should be able to admit that without hesitation or caveat but instead its always what about this, what about that.

    :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Most of the posters here won't admit racism is wrong? Really? Should be no bother for you to give some examples so.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,614 ✭✭✭WrenBoy

I have to ask posters post after post to state racism is wrong.
You have to? You want to.
Any violent acts I condemn regardless of the race of the perpetrator how many other posters on this thread can say the same.
I can only speak for myself but yes I can say that.
I know there are people who hold racist views who post in this thread everyone knows it, so when I encounter posters playing whataboutism to deny examples of racism I ask straight out. Is racism acceptable. If that question makes you uncomfortable to answer then the problem is not me!

How come you didn't ask Tombo ? or do you agree white people have no business discussing race ?

What's with the fake quotes Klaz the thing you put in quotation marks wasn't said by me. So you make up a quote in a post about me making leaps of logic.:confused:

Are you tripping, or on medication? The quote is direct from you. God, you can't even remember what you have written.
This thread has been used by may posters to drop links of violence perpetrated by African Americans. What has that got to do with Racism except to try and paint a picture of a certain race in a certain way?

This thread is about BLM and WLM. Not about racism, in itself. Considering the claims of BLM about Black people being innocent of many crimes, and victims of injustice, it makes logical sense to post links to violence perpetrated by African Americans
I have to ask posters post after post to state racism is wrong.

Why? Most people do agree that racism is wrong. In any case, I've observed that it isn't that racism is wrong, it's that their opinions on what racism entails doesn't match yours.
I know there are people who hold racist views who post in this thread everyone knows it, so when I encounter posters playing whataboutism to deny examples of racism I ask straight out. Is racism acceptable. If that question makes you uncomfortable to answer then the problem is not me!

And there you go again... (the part in bold). Which is why, I (and likely other posters here) distrust you... because you're not willing to accept posters by what they write but there's always something more for you to add to the mix.

Yet another thread on the Current Affairs/ IMHO where White People (mostly white men) 'discuss' race.

I'd love to know what the OP means by "us normal people?"

Quick point of personal privilege*: we, as mostly white privileged males, are discussing our personal take on the race and race relations and conflicts. We are obviously wrong to consider that our opinion as white privileged oppressors is worth anything and hereby I'm calling everyone to stop any further discussions and proceed to self hate ourselves until diversity improves.
"us normal people" probably refers to the few remaining sane people that will judge individuals by their deeds not by their colour, but it seems that this is an outdated white supremacist view that needs to be crushed.

"It's this and what about that"
Are you tripping, or on medication? The quote is direct from you. God, you can't even remember what you have written.

Its not civil to suggest I am on drugs or requiring medication!
And you don't have to address me as God. Robbie will do.

See the first quote and the text contained within it you have typed out something and surrounded it with quotation marks ("") that implies it is a quote.
I did not say that bit in quotation marks (""):confused::confused:

The very fact that so many people are threatened by a movement that wants to draw attention to systematic racism in the USA is very telling.
Especially when some of these people don't live there and all of them are white.
Nobody ever said that their lives don't matter. Nobody ever said that this was an attack on white folks.
This has been very clear from the start and if it isn't clear, 5 minutes reading up on it should clear things up.
This is all about people who feel threatened that the black community may be organising themselves and all they can do is scream and shout about their rights being threatened.
I give you the white oppression starter pack:

Asian Americans starting to speak out in greater numbers now about the increase in racist attacks there. Seems they are relating it to anti Asian rethoric started by trump and continued by his supporters.

What has Race got to do with anything in the pictures?
Except the hot white woman of course.

The point is, what you see in the picture is the usual standard of living of people who complain that they are being oppressed because they are white.
The type of people who complain that all lives matter.
    It's kind of obvious really.

You know what else is legal in the good ol us of a. Membership of the ku klux klan.
A chapter leader drove his car at peaceful protesters during a BLM protest and trump said he was going to ban it. But its still legal.

Are they really complaining about being oppressed?
Or are they too busy working and paying taxes and buying the odd self indulgence while adding to society, most of them anyway,

    White, Christian, conservative Americans.
Mostly hiding behind tough, macho exterior, guns, trucks and MAGA and Confederate flags. Recognisable by their sloping gait and bleeding knuckles.
Deathly afraid of and triggered by liberals, socialists, LGBTQ people, Muslims, women and environmentalists.
Calling everyone else snowflakes and libtards.
They're fast becoming a minority in the US and they know it.
Or rather, they will be a minority in a minority, because most white people are decent and not part of the American Taliban.
Since 1992 the republicans have only won the popular vote once. They're only hanging on by voter suppression and gerrymandering.
The vast majority understand BLM. There is just a very vocal minority who have the reasoning abilities of a malevolent, spoilt ten year old who feel threatened by this, because they think that giving anyone else anything somehow threatens them.

I like when the Millionaires kneel down for 10 seconds before football/nfl/basketball matches, no way racism can survive.

When you see what someone like Rashford can do for a cause, while still maintaining all other aspects of his football career, it really points out how little these superstar athletes care.

Police office details racist abuse during attack on the senate.

"A woman responded, 'This [slur] voted for Joe Biden!' Everybody that was there started joining in. 'Hey, [slur]!' It was over 20 people who said it," he added.

"I got called a [N-word] a couple dozen times ... protecting this building," Dunn told ABC News on Monday. "Is this America? They beat police officers with Blue Lives Matter flags. They fought us, they had Confederate flags in the U.S. Capitol."

More reports of racist attacks on Asians. Abc 17 a fox subsidiary reports

“They were hurling racial insults they were calling me ‘Ching Chong,’ ‘C***k,’ ‘Chinese virus,’” Kim said. “They told me to go back to China.”

Kim, who served in the United States Air Force, said he has been the target of racist comments before. He also said his friend showed up at the right moment that night and scared the attackers away.

“Definitely glad I was there,” Joseph Cha said. “Thankful to God I was there.”

Hopefully they are caught but the police have very little to go on "LAPD said it took a criminal threats and hate crime report, though Kim could only describe his attackers as two Hispanic men — one who was bald and wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt and the other wearing a white hooded sweatshirt."

Thats not going to narrow it down much.

The daily mirror yesterday reporting about a young Irish soccer player being racially abused on instagram. It always seems most racists are at their bravest on the internet.
I assume nothing will happen to the people who sent the racist abuse just like with rashford and indeed the Ian Wright case in our own courts.

All adults really should be standing up to denounce racism at every opportunity to show young people it is not acceptable.

The Republic of Ireland Under-19 star - who is currently on loan at Walsall - was targeted on social media last night.

But he was then bombarded with vile, racist messages on Instagram which he made public to highlight the abuse

Hopefully they have to face consequences, much like the young man in the Wright case. I wouldn't be in favour of a custodial sentence but definitely being hauled in front of a court and apologising much like was done in the Wright case. Shows how that kind of abuse isn't welcome.
