I think we all assumed pogba would win the vote but is there a chance kante might win as the higher rated card and the first selection, I.e, anyone that doesn’t care will either just pick the first card that pops up or go for the highest rated card.
Kante is both.
I don’t even really get kantes inclusion when he already had a toty card.

I’d still expect pogba but don’t think it’s a for gone conclusion.

3-1 so far in my first ever Weekend League.

Hope I don't jinx it and I know the time of day I'm playing probably helps as many people will be out and about, but it's not the impossibility I was thinking it would be and very similar to just playing Rivals games.

Don't get me wrong, the game I lost I was utterly demolished, 7-1 and it could have been 17. If I come up against players like that more often I will really struggle. As soon as I see a player is adept with the skill moves I know I'm in serious trouble. The dragback is about the full extent of my skill move repertoire :pac:

Before a ball was kicked I was hoping to hit the 6 wins for Silver 3 but will aim for Silver 1 now. The thing that will hold me back is aside from tonight and tomorrow morning I'll be very short on free time but will try my best.

What way does the matchmaking work for Weekend League? Is it purely random with location taken into account or do stronger/weaker teams get matched up against each other?

the first 5 games can be against anyone and basically anyone on friday are hardcore.
Your record then in the 5 games is then matched to similiar skillset so it gets easier. You'll find Saturday and Sunday a lot easier than Friday.

Actually, Maguire is usually in for Blanc but missed the last game cause of a suspension.

James for James as a straight upgrade. Probably switch Martial out for Pogba, even though he plays so far beyond his stats, it's insane.

There’s now a storyline 92 Martial in season rewards

All TOTS back in packs too, it seems. Serie A guaranteed for an 84 squad, not too shabby.

Edit: Dan James for squad battles too, very nice.

Past two have been awful packs for me.. this time round, an 88 TOTS Hintregger. Will do well for Pogba SBC as have a load of high rated Bundesliga for links.

Also, Neymar dropping is beautiful. I’ll soon be able to buy him and my squad will be complete.

Did one 82+ pack upgrade, got TOTS Edouard.

I can see Pogba or Kante being expensive, but I can also see him being very easy to craft with so many upgrade SBCs.

I had saved all my rewards for the last two weeks, started this evening opening a few small ones and one player packs. Got 3 packs in and got a duplicate 93 TOTS Manolas, gonna hold him for (fingers crossed) Pogba tomorrow.

Not sure if anyone has seen but there’s an objective there for rivals wins... get packs at each milestone with the final one being 25 wins for a 50k pack and then you get a 100k pack for completing the whole lot.

Don’t think I’ve the motivation to play 25, but decent for anyone regularly playing.

Marque matchups gave me 3 totssf cards from rewards (hamdallah, Rafa and Thiago) so pack weights are ridiculous and I also got SS Mendy from a 81+ which gives me a lot of high rated cards for Pogba's card when it gets released.

Must get opening a few packs today so, they did the same thing a few weeks for summer heat 1 I think it was. Every second pack was a TOTW

The new storyline players and some of the SBC cards have really piqued my interest in this game again.

Credit where it’s due, EA have done a good job with the storyline players (Morales, Martial and Can in particular).

Morales is a personal favourite of mine so will definitely pick him and the United fan in me really wants to get that Martial card.

The problem is once these Level 30 cards are obtained the game is virtually over at that stage.

EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention that Dan James card! Unreal card to get by just playing squad battles.

I agree about the storyline objectives this time around - I need a French/Lique 1 RB and Martial will fit into my French/PL team as well - a bit of a grind to reach Martial but Hey ho.

1 game from James SH - a godsend to be able to do it on squad battles in my opinion and for Fifa 21 I think it would be good if they gave you the option or doing these kind of objectives in Squad Battles or Rivals - May in some part solve the self relegator problem if you don’t have to go into Rivals to do them

Those who have James, any good? I'm already pretty much there but I've come up against him and didn't think much of him tbh... I have Ismael Sarr Future Star right wing at the moment and he's tearing teams apart, I cannot believe how good he is.:D

James Future Stars card has been brilliant for me, I only bumped him from my team as I packed Salah’s TOTSSF so hoping for great things from James SH - just 1 one win required for him

The 81+ packs are awful, I've opened about 5 of them and nothing over 82 rated. 82-88 packs are decent.

I was gearing up for 2 or 3 88 teams. Thats dirt cheap for 95 Pogba. Delighted.

Definitely dirt cheap for Pogba and no expiry date either so can do a few 82-88 upgrades to help with it and hope they bring back the 85-92 upgrade next week
