    I mentioned it earlier.

Edit: why is Woodward getting torn apart ? He’s hardly the first journalist to have something shocking in their possession and not released it. Donald trump is president of the United States not bob Woodward.

What is it about Bob Woodward and Presidents' own words captured on tape?

Good man Bob! You are a great journalist! Well done for exposing this bufoon's lies!

He’s known for recording interviews with their permission.

Woodward used Trump's ego against him.

Imagine Trump ringing Woodward at all hours to discuss his presidency because he just wanted that adulation and it came back to bite in in the hole.

Biden needs to play those videos every hour in the battleground states

Just to point out that trump was upset about Woodward’s last book called fear because he claimed it was false, so trump decided that giving 18 interviews with a veteran journalist who is known for recording people he interviews and yet will have tapes. It’s baffling how trump and the people in the White House ever assumed doing this would end well.

Maggie habberman is tweeting that there is serious finger-pointing between people in the White House.

Trump is an idiot, he probably gave him his personal number and spoke to him when there were no handlers around. Feed him some bullshìte, stroke his ego and tell him how great he is and he will purr like a little kitten and just ramble on about anything, not even thinking about what he is saying/admitting to.

I'll say it again, the man is a class A idiot.

No mention of the Woodward book yet? More craziness:

It will probably be more water of the cult leaders back but Woodward is being torn apart on Twitter for sitting on the Covid tape since February, people saying he has blood on his hands etc.

“If you don’t know where you are going, any path will get you there”

    Bravo Jared!

Watching CNN this feels like a turning point.

He is and he isn't, thats the thing. He's obviously got some skill going on, to be able to appeal to so many people and also to be able to stoke such fervent devotion among certain people as well.

But on a general level, the man is an embarrassment to his office. 9 times out of ten, having a buffoon in a leadership role doesn't do any harm because those under the buffoon actually make the decisions.

But on that one occasion that you do need rational leadership, you get caught out every time with someone of that ability in the leadership position. It's extremely sad and depressing that on this particular occasion, it's likely ended up costing tens of thousands of lives.

For the 1st time since she got the gig, Kayleigh Mc Enany looked truly uncomfortable dealing with the Bob Woodward revelations tonight.

It's very difficult to persuade journalists that water flows uphill.

Watched some of it there and had to turn it off. It's very unclear to me how that girl can stand there and tell lies to the entire world, and yet keep a relatively straight face.

Can US citizens sue the state for gross negligence?

The tapes seem conclusive, whether they were recorded at the interview or over the 18 phone interviews mentioned on CNN. Trump must have received advice from knowledgeable people to say what he did to Woodward. He knew and from the start mislead his country as to the seriousness of the threat-risk Covid-19 was to them. He downplayed and is still downplaying the use of even the simplest safety devices and ways of avoiding being infected. The Admin can try all it wants to downplay the contents of the tapes and how they were revealed and played to the public but they cant avoid the truth of the matter is that Trumps voice and words on them were all voluntary and spoken freely with fore-thought.

One of the foremost facts coming from this period of U.S political life is the modern media and the way [again] it can affect national and international political debates with internet news media sources being the leader of the pack [Fox V CNN] as shown when Sky dropped Fox News off its list of listed stations. Media college courses will have to include this period in the future. Trump learned too late the danger of the media, probably because of his being a TV host he didn't see the forest for the trees. Hopefully his Admins attempt to curtail the 1st amendment and suppress the free press through the AG will fail.

Donald Trump thought he'd manage and manipulate Bob Woodward.
    By definition Dunning kruger syndrome.

IMO, one thing that must be avoided is Trump resigning and handing over the office to his V/P, Pence as he, in his own way, is as great a danger via the powers of the office. In that regard, it'd be good to know if Trump kept him in his inner circle about the threat Covid-19 was to the U.S or if he was an advisor to Trump about it.

I have long believed that is a highly likely scenario. Those who know him well and who have spoken about him such as Cohen and Scaramucci have said that is highly likely in the event of an election loss. Scaramucci said months ago that it would be accompanied by a resignation on grounds of ill health.

There's nothing that can be done to prevent it unfortunately. However all the State and civil actions would not be affected..

It seems that Fox News are spinning for trump on the interview tapes. Tucker Carlson is saying that Lindsay graham set up the interviews and sat in on the first one(tucker didn’t lick that info off the grass) and is now claiming that graham has been against most trump policies even more than some democrats. Lindsay Graham should duck before that bus comes along.

Also I may have missed it yesterday but apparently the United States has a brand new nuclear weapon of some kind.

I get the blame someone for something bit but the tapes are there, what's the actual spin here?

How is this different from knowing a terrorist attack is coming and lying to avoid panic (or in this case, damage to the stockmarket)? Even the most ardent Trump supporter must be feeling somewhat adrift today.

In a functioning democracy it would be a resigning offence.

Because when it was the story about disrespecting the soldiers it was ignored since there was no tapes.

No there are tapes, then it must be context or someone's fault, or the journalist is bad.

It doesn't matter what evidence is produced, these people will never accept that Trump is wrong.

And this time, him being wrong has had cathostrophic results for millions in the country. Because, this isn't just the people who die, people suffer massive health problems, ongoing health issues, never mind the financial impacts.

But its ok, Biden has a stammer, and Pelosi didn't wear a mask, and MSM is horrible, and Obama, and HC and and and.

And nonsense to the stories of him not panicking the country. How come Leo could face up to the reality? There is a massive difference between not creating panic and actually calling something a hoax, denying the need for masks etc.

And the man held a closed event rally in Tulsa, against the wishes of the local mayor, knowing that it was a receipt for death.

Hmm I wonder if Graham is about to be dumped and finally the worst kept secret in Washington will be confirmed?

That's the crux of it. He tries to create panics over everything; migrant caravans, Hilary's emails, "Obamagate", BLM... His current panic-line is about Joe Biden coming to destroy suburbs. He does whatever he can to whip his supporters into a frenzy at every available opportunity

Yet the one thing he downplays is the one thing that's going to actually result in thousands of deaths. And he does nothing. Nothing to prepare, nothing to start giving people proper information, nothing to help. He goes so far as to undermine actual attempts to get proper information out to people. He knows the virus is already in the country and is spread through the air and close contact... and he holds rallies to feed his ego.

And nothing will change. No one will challenge him on it. Biden will attack him for it in the election, but Trump's supporters will still vote for him, and after the election if Biden wins, the Dems will let Trump sail away into the sunset because to actually bring any charges or investigations against him will probably cost them too much political power.

Trump has definitely accomplished more in 4 years as President than most presidents ever have. He's broken the political system in America beyond repair and fractured an already fairly divisive nation in ways that I think will only ever get worse.

Once again, Tucker is trying to throw sand in our eyes! It doesn't matter a jot who set up the interviews between Trump and Woodward. Graham is irrelevant to this! The fact is that Trump said what he said, and instead of blaming Graham for the interviews, he should be dealing with what Trump said! Instead, he trying to deflect with a red herring! Typical Carlson!

A secret about Graham ? Would certainly take the heat off of Trump...

Not only the covid recordings but also the discussion of a "new nuclear" system or weapon that even China and Russia don't know about etc. I mean he's rambling and boasting about things to a journalist he knows is recording and going to report on these things, can you imagine who and what else he spills to who knows who? Christ the GOP have completely lost themselves, willingly supporting this national security risk, they are all as guilty.

"People say ‘go with the flow’ but do you know what goes with the flow? Dead fish."

    What secret?
The Lady G thing is well out in the world at this stage.
Also I am not sure who setup the interviews is relevant

The GOP if it had any credibility would take the hit on this election and use the next 4 years to regroup.
Where do fools like De Santis in Florida go and hide their shame?
