    The blood oxygen level is the key. That dropping is the worry. They clearly believed Trump was rapidly heading in the wrong direction.

    It is used for a wide range of conditions... hospitalised patients...

    So it's been used for patients who are not necessarily in a serious condition as a preventative.

    The point is that it is not beneficial for COVID-19 positive patients without the use of oxygen which your quote confirms - Trump clearly is on oxygen if not why are they giving it to him?

    See Point 2 with linked info regarding Dexamethasone below;

    Further info pointing out ineffectiveness without Oxygen;

    I imagine that Trump is probably the worst possible patient any doctor could have, and there's probably something of a power struggle going on in the Presidential Suite. We know from several tell-all books that he's easily triggered by what he sees on TV, often flipping into a rage over whatever he deems to have been bad advice from someone else - so that kind of thing would definitely make any breathing problem worse. It'd be understandable if his doctors wanted to stop him watching TV, or scrolling through Twitter on his phone, if he was going ballistic over some survey or unfriendly CNN "fake news" and pushing his blood oxygen levels below the threshold.

    At the same time, he's almost certainly telling them he wants to be discharged. That comment reported by the doc yesterday ("I feel like I could walk out of here right now") would be classic Trump; and would anyone be surprised if he demanded that he was given everything and anything in the way of medication, just so he could walk out to Marine One and get back to the White House?

    So assuming he's acting like the deranged aged parent, the medical team are probably negotiating with the WH officials to find some way of telling him everything'll be fine while desperately trying to practise sensible medicine. There's nothing inherently wrong with sending him "home" if he's still in the first phase of this; but convincing Trump that it'll look very much worse for him if he has to be stretchered out of the WH in five days' time if/when he suffers the second phase ... well, how's that going to play out? Remember, we've been told (several times over) that he's surrounded himself with people chosen only to tell him what he wants to hear - do any of them have the guts to tell him to cop on to himself?

    Not a fan of his but at least Boris Johnson was an exemplary patient while in hospital. Just do what the docs and more importantly nurses tell you to do.

    Trump doesn't have that luxury though. The next month will determine his future. (If he has one).

    Whatever his Covid odds are, his reelection ones are a lot longer and his jail time ones getting shorter.

    Imagine going into hospital here with covid and the doctor treating you is an osteopath

    Why not let a yoga teacher manage cancer treatment

    Is there any danger in prescribing these drugs before symptoms are necessarily severe enough to warrant them? What I ask is whether they're jabbing Trump with the emergency stuff purely cos he's the president and trying to kill the infection in its crib? The whole affair has highlighted the disparities between the powerful and those without power when it comes to treatment, so I'm kinda assuming Trump gets the expensive drugs before we would 'cos he's more important.

    One of the reports about his treatment stated the drug cocktail had been used on 300 other covid-19 patients without defining whom they were or the circumstances of it's prior use. I was thinking they'd have to be pretty worried about his health in using it with the fear of his body immune system reacting and rejecting it.

    Trump just drove past supporters outside Walter Reed - Why the f*ck is it acceptable for him (highly contagious) to put further members of the Secret Service at risk??

    Why is someone who can deteriorate rapidly being allowed leave hospital grounds?

    This is batsh*t stuff.

    You have to hand it to him, he is a spectacular campaigner. He's absolutely fine. Wall to wall Trump coverage continuing. Biden hasn't got a look in for the last 48 hours.

    I'm not sure if the entire world talking about Trump & Co's blatant stupidity and recklessness is the best campaigning strategy. Time will tell, I suppose!

    White House Press Association (WHPA) really annoyed at not being given info as has always been the case of POTUS as the people are entitled to know.

    When the only GOP member that will go on CNN to rebut the indefensible is Jason Miller that should be ringing alarm bells.

    Dr. Reiner CNN says he believes on the answers given by Trump's Dr. that Trump has pneumonia.
    He also believes Trump had it for several days before the positive test and thus may not have been tested for several days.
    So now the question is, was he tested before going to the debate Tuesday? We know the Trumps arrived late and were not tested there.

    If Dr Reiner is right in his assessment of Trumps medical condition, then he has at least one underlying condition weakening his immune system & leaving him more open to infection and more urgent medical care. The drive-by and his urge to get back to the White House may be down to fear of being set aside before the election. His speech from the hospital spoke of his desire not to be stuck upstairs in the W/House yet he now, according to his spoke-persons, seems set on getting back there and into the game again. He might fear being upstaged in his absence by a good performance from Pence in the debate with Harris. I'm assuming his wife and sons would have some say in where he is quartered in respect of proper [not good] medical care and assessment 24/7.

    More like at least three comorbidities, hes over 70 and clinically obese, not to mention his atrocious diet and lack of any real exercise, and no the golf doesn't count because he rides carts everywhere.

    Are they, or are they annoyed at being lied to?
