The thing is if he tries something like that, his supporters don't get to decided he's the victor.....

If you have ever tried to wrestle another man for a chair, it’s better to be seated in the chair then not seated in the chair.

Oh them actually engaging in violence is my big concern tbh.

But it's not a chair, it's a presidential election. He can say what he likes, his supporters can do what they like. The machine has a perpetual motion to it once it's started, if the election goes Bidens way which it absolutely will then trump clinging onto power by his finger nails will result in him losing his grip and falling from that cliff inevitably. How many of his lemmings follow him over the edge is up to themselves.

Reports are saying Trump is going to declare victory on Tuesday very early and take to the podium. If he does that his supporters aren’t going to allow for him to be removed.

I certainly wouldn’t put it past him to try something like that. And no doubt Fox News would jump on the bandwagon.

I think it’s going to be a very challenging 24/48/72 hours next week.

You will hope that the Republican Party will see the big picture as in we have another election in 2 years and do everything possible to reign this in

Is there any real leaders left in the GOP?

But that's the problem: to the GOP, the obstructionist, partisan politics seen from McConnell's tenure IS the Big Picture. Everything is working as intended, albeit headed by a vulgar Dunning-Kruger example. To them, that's simply how Washington works; not consensus or working for the good of the nation, but power for its own sake, and damn those who get in the way. Indeed, McConnell himself snarked that he'd be the "Grim reaper" during Obama's terms, and would kill any legislation that came his way, regardless of merit. Chatter about fiscal conservativism is merely window dressing, the facade of democracy over a push-pull for absolute power.

It goes back to Newt Gingrich v Clinton.

Mitch McConnell, he doesn't give a flying **** about trump. He controls the senate republicans and there are plenty in the house who will throw trump under the bus as soon as his usefulness is over.

I don't like McConnell, I don't like anything about him but as master of the political dark arts he is almost unparalleled in recent memory for sure and a leader in the GOP.

Look at FF or SF or the Tories.

There's a lot of people there who didn't speak up when bad things were done. They aren't new blood. Until they are purged or proven different there is no reason to trust those parties.

New Labour didn't win in the UK. The Conservatives made themselves unelectable.

Fair enough, which makes it all the more engrained within the foundations of partisan politics. And with someone as outsized as Trump, if and when the axe falls there's a convenient scapegoat to sidestep any need for party self reflection. No problem will exist that couldn't be shovelled into Trump's corner. Bar a root and branch change in approach - starting with McConnell being ousted - I would fully expect the GOP to operate as disingenuously partisan as it always does in opposition the last few decades. Screams of socialism, liberal politicians killing babies and all the usual hits.

And he doesn't get to decide when the counting stops, so any stage-managing he tries is gaslighting.

Nice for "cough" an apology to come from the White House. Dr Atlas tweeted an apology for appearing on RT speaking his mind about Covid-19 precautions [lockdowns] and his fellow U.S medical doctors, saying he didn't realise that RT was registered foreign agent and apologise, especially to the national security community, for allowing myself to be taken advantage of.

The industrial prison complex could do with more recruits.

If trumpets kick up into violence the police would not be able to stand back neither will Trump able to claim "antifa bad" when it's his own supporters causing trouble...
Don't be too optimistic. Where were the police yesterday as Trump supporters literally tried to ram the bus of a Presidential candidate off the road?

Police have been escorting Trump supporters to intimidate voters in El Paso and shouting out 'Trump 2020' on loudspeakers in NY. From what we have seen this year from the American police, you may as well be a nationalist looking for the support of the blacks and tans and metropolitan police in Dublin a century back.

My worry is less to do with the police standing back, and more to do with them taking a more Belarussian approach.

You'd think the best people would check who it was they were doing interviews with.

You'd probably be right if the best people were on the staff.

Did they just ring up the WH and ask to speak to Atlas? How stupid do they think people are?

There is a clip on twitter of a police officer joining the "train" and laughing about how great it was shortly before they tried to run the bus off the road.

If and when Trump loses I think we're going to be in store for a lot more first-hand anecdotes about crazy things that have happened over the last 4 years. It'll be hard to top some of the things that we've heard already but I'm sure there'll be some interesting nuggets to come.

    The hell he didn't.
The Whitehouse have been controling Fauci's access to American networks for months now, but allowed Atlas to go on RT.

Maybe in 20 years time. Anything in the next ten and it'll just be written for dramatic effect.

I want the cool, calm, collected reveal not the OMG version. No offence to her, she's a young girl.

Is there any way Fauci can sue Trump for recklessly endangering his and his family's lives?

Fauci had to hire security a few weeks ago for protection after Trump publicly attacked him and now he riles up a crowd with "Fire Fauci" the new "lock her up".

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8904289/Trump-hints-FIRE-Dr-Fauci-election-Florida-crowd-chant-Fire-Fauci.html

With the way America is right now it only takes one nut job to use this as his excuse to harm Fauci, a man who has dedicated decades of service to the United States and is having his reputation smeared by a narcissistic president.
