Just looked it up but Miller is now the 6th secretary of defense. One thing his administration will be remembered for is the amount of firings that went on with his cabinet

I'd say ICE will go on a deportation rampage.

They already have. There is a flight due out to Cameroon soon. The last deportations there have have already reported a number of people going missing since they arrived back in Cameroon. It is suspected that they have been victims of extra-judicial execution by the Cameroon government.

This flight is being nicknamed the death plane, I will try dig up an article on it.

He’s such a child it’s still amazing he’s the president. I’d say mark esper is the first of many because it’s everyone else’s fault but his. He can fire fauci from the task force but not his everyday job thankfully.
Might put him closer to detonating the nukes. I'm not convinced America is out of the woods yet.

Following up on my last post.

Incidentally there is a report that 2 of the people on this flight were tortured by ICE agents, who forced them into showers before using tasers.

Well he's not going to go quietly:

    Defense Sec has been fired.

I'd say he's going to be the first of many over the next few days. What did he do to get the hook at this point?

By twitter so the world gets the news first, not the SecDef. No meeting, no letter, no phone-call, just a sneaky tweet. The act and modus operandi of a coward.

I wouldn't be surprised if Fauci gets the chop.

Technically, he can't fire Fauci - He's a civil servant , not a political appointee.

He could reassign him or something , but he can't actually fire him.

Speaking of reassigning or constructive dismissal.
I see Joe has appointed the whistleblower vaccine specialist Dr Mark Bright to his Covid task force.

He was reassigned after his whistleblower complaint and subsequently resigned.

Well this is interesting, seeing as he has been MIA for a while.

You do know that Trump deported less people than the administration that Joe Biden was a part of?
Obama ... removed 409,849 people in 2012 alone. Trump, who has vowed to deport “millions” of immigrants, has yet to surpass 260,000 deportations in a single year.

And while Obama deported 1.18 million people during his first three years in office, Trump has deported fewer than 800,000.

Hasn't Trump stopped people from coming into the US to request asylum, having them do it in Mexico and other Central American countries?

You don't have to deport them if you never allowed them in (Inset Eddie Murphy lookalike meme)

And Mitch has made a statement rowing in behind Trump and not accepting the result.

    Here we go again...

McConnell needs to win the two seats in Georgia, that's what he's watching.

Well once the electoral college certify the results on December 14th it won’t make any difference.

    Some in Fox News.

    It's tailor-made for a Hannity/Carlson/Ingraham vs Wallace/Baier/Perino gladiator style 3 way death match.

Will be interesting to see Carlson and Hannity in particular tonight.

    I could be wrong,,,not the first time:pac:

But currently they have 48 seats with 4 to be called, the two in Georgia (Jan Run Offs ) and 2 in Alaska and North Carolina.

Things look fine in Alaska although the count probably will take another 10 years, North Carolina is very close but Thom Tillis might just crawl over the line although can't find much on the current state of play tbf.

Those 2 winning would mean Mitch would need only 1 seat next January which is obviously a relief for him as Loeffer especially is very vulnerable.

He'd obviously would take 51-49 due to how useless Loeffer is, but does mean Biden now and then will be able to pick off senators on certain stuff.

Although obviously someone like Manchin will need to be kept happy as he has speculated about running in 2024 so will want to prove his bipartisanship voting against Biden now and then.

Did Carlson ever get that "smoking gun" USB key that was lost and then found again? Or did they give up on that angle I wonder.

Until Trump's administration members recognize their loyalty oaths are to the constitution, and not Trump, they will stand and fall with him. That goes for the media sources who are willingly following his [propaganda guidelines] and not their obligations under the constitution. Until the two other separate branches of U.S government recognize their actual obligations, and not their imagined fealty, the U.S will be stuck in a time-warp of his making.

Cal Cunningham is running behind Biden.
He's 100k behind Tillis (Biden is 75k behind Trump).

Seems unlikely that Biden will win that and the chances for Cunningham are even worse.

The Supreme Court is hearing arguments about the ACA and I’ve only listening to bits of it but of the justices I’ve heard including all trumps nominees including Amy coney barret, the attorney general making the case it’s unconstitutional didn’t get much traction in my opinion from Kavanagh and Alito. They both said why does the whole act need to fall by removing the mandate, and alito likening it to removing a part of a plane and the plane still flies. I’m not a lawyer but just the questions asked didn’t seem to be leaning in favour of striking down the ACA.

Zero question of which way Alito is going to vote, as always. Himself and Thomas may as well skip the hearings and just show up to vote with the Republican point of view.

That analogy is pretty bad since there are many parts of a plane (such as oh I don't know, the wings) that if you removed them they would not fly.

I wouldn't place too much stock in that though, they often use a line of questioning that plays the devils advocate role also in their hearings.

Hopefully they won't strike it down obviously but with a 6-3 majority I think they are in with as good a chance as they have had. Hopefully they fail to make the case properly!

Edit: Im inclined to agree with the previous poster on Thomas and Alito.

On the issue of the ballot paper, were there separate forms to fill in on the Presidential election and the Senate and House elections or were they all on the one form? I'm asking this as, if they were all on the one form, all the election results [incl the GOP wins] will be put in doubt if there was to be a recount or dismissal of the ballot papers.

Sky news reported that Mike Pompeo said there would be a smooth transition to the next Trump Administration. Thinking at first it read the Biden administration, I went to CNN and other sources for confirmation, found none and went back to Sky where I realised my error after several readings of the Sky report.
