    The man has found himself in a position of Minister, based on:

    He was given sufficient votes by the electorate to be made a TD
    The platform he ran on is one of green/ liberal preferences
    That trend is very in vogue at the moment
    The election produced no clear winners to govern the country and form ministries
    His party was invited in to make up the numbers to get a coalition over the line
    As an elected TD under the above banner, he was put forward by his leader for cabinet position as a Minister
    The price for coalition is that X number of TDs be from the party he got elected under

    I am saying that he has no special skills or experience that qualifies him to be Minister.
    Rather, happenstance has lead to him being given the Ministry he now has as he benefited from being a member of an in vogue movement at the election. But that alone wouldn't have made a minister. It took the hobbled Dail to get where we are.

    I think in light of any associations with questionable characters that presents possible conflicts of interest with the Ministry, that he be removed from that Ministry and a reshuffle be arranged to provide for any outstanding talents or experience he brings to the table that warrants being a cabinet Minister.

    What exactly is the extent of the link here? Just a photo taken at a pride march. Do we know o'Gorman's view on this issue?

    I dont know his writing and he may have changed his view, but he isnt advocating pedophila but thinks many are not harmed by pedophila. Sounds like a non apology apology.

    In fairness to O'Gorman, he didnt write the twitter endorsement but it does look bad. He should be given a chance to publically distance himself from tatchells view.

    O'Gorman is a strange outlier. Although there are a few others with as little experience as him getting minster jobs, at least they were women and helped bring diversity. He clearly is a fool though, in his desire to enhance criminalisation of speech.

    It's the photo. Absolutely no evidence that he was aware of Thatchells history. Which is why it is popping up now.

    Every time there is a thread about LGBT issues on Boards.ie there is always mod instructions in bold in the first post "anybody linking homosexuality with pedophilia will be banned." This latest story is forcing leftists to have some uncomfortable conversations.

    How does it help? Can you point out specific examples? We've had 2 doctors as Health Ministers, how did that go?

    So just to be clear:

    O'Gorman was pictured next to Tatchell in 2018 at a Pride March whilst also surrounded by thousands of other people.

    Tatchell wrote to a comments section of a Newspaper in 1997 expressing some controversial opinions about children and sex.

    Therefore O'Gorman clearly must agree with Tatchell's opinions expressed in 1997 and should resign immediately.

    Do I have that about right?
