Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    The answer is, it depends.

Some lens cleaners are alcohol based, in and around 1:1 isopropyl:water, others contain no alcohol and instead use other solvents/cleaners.

Have you tried reading the label?

I use rubbing (isopropyl) alcohol on lens. In fact anyone working with electronics does. Say to clean something on a board you're repairing you would use alcohol as it's not conductive and removes grease. If you're mounting a heat sink to a processor you would first wipe the block of aluminum and processor die with alcohol before applying thermal paste.

Also picked up a 500 mL bottle in my local pharmacy. They ordered it especially, ~2 days to arrive ~€17, should keep us going for a few years of electronics cleaning.

Radionics have it for €10 https://ie.rs-online.com/web/p/precision-cleaners-degreasers/0567890/

Delivery as I recall was around €4.

It might be harder to source than normal. You can turn it into hand sanatiser. Local pharmacies were sold out in march/april. Wholesale prices of alcohol went up too.
