This has come up before but encountered it again yesterday so thought it time for a reminder.

Fixing a relations laptop yesterday, things a bit slow....hmmm. 8Mb D/S. Uninstall SmartByte...BOOM 220Mb!

Its a shame, their work focused lines are decent but they have to do a Lenovo and bundle utter trashware to put a sour taste in your mouth.


Dell owners, find SmartByte and purge it with extreme prejudice. Then remove Dell Update so it doesnt bring it back from the dead.

Whats the Trashware on Lenovo for the uninitiated? Is it similar to SmartByte?

I ask because I have recently been forced to use Lenovo for work.
