Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wheelbarrow tyre flat. Tube badly torn so bought new tube.
Now trying to get the tyre back on the rim - without success.
Are there any tricks or tips to make it possible?
Attached photo to show lack of progress.
Should I try inflate the tube just a bit?
    Or . . . . . help please.

    MOTF

Grease or lube of some sort.WD40 is good too.

Couple of screwdrivers and little bit of violence.:D

The tyre is usually tight going back over the rim.Just use the levers bit by bit to put the tyre on.

Mind that the valve comes through the opening in the rim.

Lots of WD40, 20 minutes of violence and a few scarred hands, the tyre is back on.
Never again - it's not a DIM job!!
    Thank you.

LIDL or ALDI often sell wheelbarrow wheels - complete with rim & tyre - they are not expensive.

Very handy to have one as a spare - usually under pressure with a job when you get a puncture......need the barrow quickly so would be handy to just whip off puncture and put on spare...could then repair spare at your leisure.

The handles of a couple of soup spoons do the trick - screwdrivers can accidentally damage the tube.

Hold one in place whilst moving along the rim with the other

Having a spare is very handy.

For removing and replacing tyre get a pair of motorcycle tyre levers they are designed for the job.

Washing up liquid or good old fashioned soap around the tyre bead along with two decent sized metal tyre levers will give you a fighting chance. Put the bead in at the valve area first and inch your way around the rim slowly but steadily using one lever and keeping your foot or knee on the other side to stop it coming back out, it usually takes a few attempts but the tyre will soften and go with you. Those kids go karts are the worst tyre to try and get on the rim.

Just saw that you made it... Well done it's a horrible horrible job, keep an eye out for a suitable spare wheel.

Wet talcum powder works a dream for slipping on. The shaft on many barrows does not fit the aldi wheel bushings.
