Now imagine a calico cat drinking Barry's tea!!!!

She has done it before but generally, she's well behaved. If she's on my lap I'll rest the cup on her as she likes the warm cup.

@Phoenix, Hope you work it out but don't let anyone **** you around, you're the one who has put in the greater effort and that needs to be respected.

Seph, I saved the cat gif you put up here last week. The white cat riding shotgun in the pickup. It's brilliant.
I look at it sometimes just for a smile.

Chances are it isn't you who is not doing it right but a bunch of awkward women who are taking offence at the slightest thing.

If you start feeling that you are pissing off people who you have never met and who mean nothing to you, then take a step back and get some perspective. You are fine :)

Tone is difficult to convey, anyway if a person tales offence or runs away that easy online at least you haven't wasted time or money on them by meeting up ;)

Precisely. If a reasonable person found something slightly off in what you texted, they would take into account the difficulty in conveying tone and ask you to clarify or just give you the benefit of the doubt and wait and see what kind of person you are as the conversationsun progress.

Nought wrong with your posting style here, Kowloon. Just a lot of headwreckers out there.

Pretty sure it was my terrible writing that caused this one. My poor communication skills shouldn't let me down as often when I have time to type things out slowly but I still manage to **** up.

Regardless of how you wrote it though you could be dealing with someone who takes things the wrong way easily. You'll find the right person you click with yet :)

Nah, she was really nice and very interesting. She's probably angry about yet another guy being an arsehole online now.

You weren't an arsehole in any way, shape or form.

Sure look in the grand scheme of things she's unimportant really and there's plenty more fish in the sea. I doubt you did anything really bad so I wouldn't beat yourself up about it.

Kowloon, you're going to have to develop a thicker skin. You're in a manufactured environment where people think they can select/drop others at will.

If there's drama before you've met just imagine what you're likely to get thrown at you after you've met?

I've been asked if I had Whatsapp, I think that's the choice these days. Not sure how it's any different to messaging on the website/app.

But I mean if you're getting in well, would a 10 minute actual chit chat, talking on the phone not give you a better idea of the other person?
Text/chat can be easily misconstrued or tone taken out of context.

It's an app that allows free texts, calls, pictures and videos from your phone. You need to swap numbers so it's more promising than just chatting in the dating app.

All they'll get out of me is Barry's Green Label. Panic abated. I'll call it a learning experience.

I'll die before I switch. I used to bring a bag of 600 back on my flight if I was home from the UK. They don't weigh much and the staff at the gate were cool with me taking an extra bag. They understood the addiction.

Wide awake, broke diet because I'm a glutinous pos :(. Need to keep to the rules or I'll undo any progress. Being awake at night is a dangerous time for dieting.

I'm sorry you had another miscommunication Kowloon, you always come across as having a good sense of humour so I really don't think it's you. Only good thing about all this stress is that I haven't eaten much in the last couple of days :D Oh even with not much extra space in my suitcase I was sure to pack Barrys tea bags so there's another loyal follower here :p

It's the same time for me here. I just woke at about 4ish and can't get back to sleep yet :)

An off switch for thinking would be amazing Grem, I'd never turn it on :D I hope the rest of your shift goes quickly for you.

I had to rub my eyes and check the time again there.

  • Registered Users Posts: 323 ✭✭Phoenix32

I think Kowloon thought I was in a different time zone because I travelled for 12 hours but no, that's just how long it takes to travel from Cork to Aberdeen in the middle of a pandemic :D I usually flew Cork to Glasgow and got the train to Aberdeen but there weren't flights available and there weren't any available from Dublin to Aberdeen either as there usually are. So I had to go from Cork to Dublin and then Glasgow to Aberdeen with a wait in between for a train as trains were operating a reduced schedule. So yeah, I'm nowhere exotic :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,550 ✭✭✭✭kowloon

Ah, I assumed you were much further afield. Closer to home is better anyway. I used to fly home all the time, although things were simpler back then, everyone was just afraid of terrorists.

Meh, the chances of being killed by a terrorist are seriously low, particularly with ISIS working from home.

Funny enough, electrocuted on stage would be my way to go too. Or racing accident..

Judging by the size and noise of the seagulls here I think I'm going to be pecked to death by a group of them.
