Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I had that approach months ago, however on discovering that I would have a battle to get my work medical renewed, I decided that avoidance was the best approach.

Mutt decided that he wanted to Go out, so I’m awake, alarm set one hour from now, taxi an hour after that and then a 70 minute flight back to my lovely hotel for at least 3 weeks.

Aha the builder, well what can I say :) got a snag list company to review the house and got a 2 page report, garbage like this .....and of course the kitchen tiles weren’t touched.

Sister is suggesting going down a legal route, but to me the only one that will make money from that situation is the solicitor.

The legal route might make you feel better for getting revenge, but it won't sav you a penny.

My retiring boss had these made for us as a parting gift.

I really think that I would look like a pretentious pr**k walking around the airport terminal this morning wearing that :):)

Gotta admit that i would have preferred the company name or the aircraft type, not these. Will pick them up as I pass though our building, so they might look better in my hand.

Morning all, looks like its going to be another gorgeous day, windows wide open here,I just had a coffee and now I'm trying to motivate myself to go for a walk, I've gotten very lazy the last few weeks, not getting anywhere near 10k steps any day, I was doing 15-20k during lockdown and felt so much better, I have to get back on track but easier said than done.

      Have a great day lads.

It would be quicker to murder him, I think a judge would be lenient. That's lazy, shoddy workmanship.

If the builder has social media pages detail your experience and add the pictures.

Have you paid him in full? If not get someone else to patch up issues on the snag list and deduct the cost from his fee. I'd also bargain for a notable discount for stress and inconvenience caused.

      How is your mam Kitty?

She’s not too bad, had been struggling to get around and was nervous on crutches/the walker, but she’s getting a bit better on the walker which is something :)

I’m delighted to hear that your Mam is doing OK, I’m sure that you will give her all the support that that she needs.

I guess that my mistake Was that I didn’t hire a “builder”, I hired a “contractor”. After two weeks of relative silence where I had told him multiple times that the house would be locked last Friday and requested that he was finished, well today we had a long WhatsApp chat when he asked for access tomorrow to finish things.

When I asked why the tiles were still on the wall, he was waiting for my wife to come and pick new tiles, totally forgetting that i have a message from him saying that he was going to pick up the tiles in June.

When I asked why the kitchen cupboards didn’t touch the ceiling as requested by my missus, well he didn’t like the idea so didn’t do it.

This went around in circles for over an hour, but in the end, my house is locked with new locks and only my sister has access and she isn’t letting the guy near the place. I really loathe the fact that a new €6500 pure Oak staircase was left with paint on it, as were the skylight windows. As they say, we live and learn, but this is one experience that i dont want to ever have to repeat.

Next time I shall get a BUILDER :)

She was sick early this morning and asked to go out. She doesn't go past the garden really. If I leave to walk anywhere or go to the neighbours she gets upset and sits on the wall meowing until I'm out of sight. Sometimes she's still there waiting when I get back. Very much a home cat.

Our own builder said that the other day, he said if we had gone with a contractor it probably would’ve cost twice the price it has, but since he’s an actual builder he did a lot of the work himself and got in plasterers, electricians and plumbers for the bits he couldn’t do. We were actually incredibly lucky with the builder we got, makes sure everything is done right and doesn’t cut corners, plus he’s a nice guy which helps when he’s in your house 6 or 7 hours a day! :pac:
